Commercial-Free Raw?
Since I didn't see this posted on the front page here:
From http://wrestling.insidepulse.com/200...ounded-animal/ "In a fairly unprecedented move the June 22 RAW from Green Bay will be broadcast commercial free. Naturally this means the creative team will have to write and format the show more like a pay per view than a regular television broadcast." A) I think this will be an interesting move, not just from the perspective of not having commercials, but as was noted here, the show likely having a similar format to a PPV. Also, UNCUT MATCHES! (then again, it's Raw, not like the matches are long anyway) B) I'm calling it now: Kennedy returns in Green Bay ;) :shifty: |
Going to be interesting.
You know, all those Divas matches and Cena and Hunter promos. |
Here's betting that we have Hunter on his cell phone.
Hunter: Yeah, Orton's gonna get it tonight, *looks directly into the camera with a cheesy smile* ....but thank God for these AT&T rollover minutes, now I can chat anytime, with free nights and weekends! *thumbs up* AT&T: Your World...Delivered! Orton: Cody, Ted, get the $5 dollar footlongs we bought from Subway with a complementary Pepsi. We're gonna punt out hunger. |
Michael Cole: CHAIR SHOT! Thank goodness Staples has such low, low prices on folding chairs!
Why are they doing this anyways?
Probably as a ratings booster, TL. I wonder if they're going to lost a lot of money during this show without commercials playing every 10 minutes. I'm sure they'll find a way to make up for that. *Looks at The Fonz and Xero
I am actually excited for this. However, there may be more matches that we don't care about.

I'll laugh my ass off if C.M. Punk comes out wearing a Pepsi t-shirt.
Great, so now there's just going to be 2 hours straight of terrible booking and matches. They haven't targeted the problems that might be causing those low ratings, instead convinced themselves that gimmicks like this will bring fans back. :nono:
They're just gonna start talking about the rich smooth taste of Camel cigarettes like they did back in the old days.

It will be nice to have a raw without commercials every 10mins. |
More room for recaps! SWEET!

is this just on USa? I'd imagine The Score in Canada has advert commitments, not to mention dsport center moments....
Bet on graphic overlays, and a ring full of advertisements

Anyone have 17 points to spare???
the PPVs themselves include commercials. Be interesting to see that format for a night of Raw, though.
Yeah, I'm sure we will get a lot of station identifications Next Monday.

Who wants to bet that this happens, and then conveniently the week after that the ads just happen to still be there? I bet that's actually what they're trying to do. And really I don't know why they shouldn't. |
I always take a break when Orton makes his entrance to the ring.
It's a shame they're on Smackdown, cuz I'd love to see more of the Cryme Tyme Shopping Network spots next Monday.
Wasn't WWE's deal with USA Network consisting that they would get almost nothing from commercials anyway? So in effect USA Network will be getting screwed from this
The commercials are usually the most watchable thing on Raw. :(
I'll be disappointed we won't get to see a sneak preview of Year One next week
Don't worry, I'm sure Michael Cera and Jack Black will be at Raw live.
Based on the commercial I just saw during ECW, be prepared for many non-commercials touting the fact that "12 Rounds" is coming out on DVD at the end of the month.
YIPPEE!!!!! [/sarcasm] |
CM Punk will come out and advertise for pepsi on one arm and GI Joe movie on the other!
Mark Henry will advertise Marth Stewart Super Absorbant Towels..omg hes not wet! Randy Orton will one up MR. Perfect's 100 yard pass with a 100 yard field goal kicked with his new Nike football cleats...DUHH!!! it writes itself!!!! |
