ECW 6-23-09 The Hero in Disguise
 

I actually thought the show was pretty decent this week. Tyson vs Evan was good and the main event was good, but Gregory Helms interviewing Mark Henry was awesome. When the crates fell on the crew guy and Henry kept looking back and forth, I thought that he was debating going over to lift up the crates, but then the Hurricane appears and I about lost it. Then he goes back to try and finish the interview like nothing happened.....Priceless!!

The idea works very well if you have the right people in it. Last year's SmackDown and Raw Scrambles were very entertaining. ECW just doesn't have the right guys in it this year.

i think the idea works better with cruiserwieghts, but for a major world title im not feeling it

I really like the scramble match. All 3 were great last year and i'm looking forward to this years.

I think with only one Scramble Match per show, they'll be able to book them a lot better.

The Hurricane was the most success Helms has ever had, so more power to him for getting the character back. It fits the "Sci-Fi" theme of ECW, and it connects with the kiddies. It could be great for ECW and for Helms. Maybe this time we will get a proper heel turn for the superhero?

I love Zack Ryder.

I know I'm porbably gonna get a few WTF's but I think Helms should have a run as champ. It dosen't have to be long, but it would be awesome.

Why not? Especially on ECW. If Chavo Guerrero and Johnny Nitro can do it (as much as I love those guys), then Gregory Helms can get it done.

The only shit part about last year's scramble matches was the whole "Punk loses title without being in match" bullshit. Other than that they were interesting to watch and very enjkoyable.

I liked the way they protected CM Punk by taking the World Heavyweight Title without him being pinned or submitting.

Watched ECW, and I really want to see more from Zack Ryder already, dammit. Put him in a program with Evan Bourne, although this stuff between Bourne and The Hart Dynasty has potential.

That is BULLSHIT. They did NOT 'protect' him there. They made him look weak and his title run mean absolutely nothing.

Well, I guess it's a perception thing. I saw it as the WWE realising they had jumped the gun with Punk, and deciding to take the World Heavyweight Title off him without jobbing him out. He was beat-down by three guys, and then got hit by a finishing move which keeps people out for weeks.

If Triple H dropped the WWE Title like that, people would complain about him not giving the rub to someone by putting them over, and trying to protect his spot.

I saw what the WWE did as them saying "we'll try again sometime soon." Yeah, they did have Punk do mid-card duty for a while, but that built up a resume for Punk, which is something I think he could have used before he won his initial World Heavyweight Title. Sure enough, Punk got another chance, and is World Heavyweight Champion again.
