So WB Owns Midway
They got it because nobody else wanted it basically but whatever, Midway lives again. So now WB owns Midway, Mortal Kombat (and all characters), and the upcoming This is Vegas. So where will this go? I figure WB could get on a new MK awareness strategy, including a new movie or TV show. Hell, they could take MK vs DC and present it in other media if they wanted. How about Bruce Timm doing a direct-to-DVD animated movie about that game?
Most likely Midway and most of their games will still suffer the wrath of piss-poor Western development style and philosophy. And who can forget the genius that is Ed Boon? In any case, good luck to both entities, maybe something good can come out of this mercy buy. |
If they were smart, they would get DC do a (good) comic about MK and then use it as a lead in to a rebooted game franchise developed by anyone who isn't Ed Boon.

c'monnnnnnnn psi-ops sequel

Forgot about that. Midway's random lapse of good game development.

What are the chances of seeing Bugs Bunny vs. Liu Kang?
|
Yosemite Sam vs. The Joker would be funnier.:shifty:
|
new film would be awesome
|
Hope they start from scratch on the next MK.
|
If you're going to start from scratch, why not just give it a completely different title?
|
Mortal Kombat stays.

Whoever can come up with a game that has all of the key elements of Mortal Kombat and this game...
