The Open Championship
 

Normally I don't get too into Tour events until Saturday and Sunday, but Tom Watson, who is turning 60 in September, shot a -5 65 in his opening round today at Turnberry. He's 1 shot back of the leader.

Tiger shot a +1 71, for those wondering.

The only other PGA event Watson has played this year was the Masters where he shot a +13 and missed the cut.

I was watching the putts he made...talk about some clutch shots just to save par.

<font color=goldenrod>Watson completely fell apart in the playoff...think he just ran out of gas.

At least Cink won his first major...so it's still a good story anyway.</font>

This was such a shame. Watson really deserved to win the Open but that 18th fucked him.
