by Sherdog.com Staff 18633 Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin will go at it again in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 103 on Sept. 19 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The promotion announced the tilt –- a rematch of their first encounter at UFC 93 last January in Dublin, Ireland -- on UFC.com Monday. Henderson bested Franklin in their first 205-pound contest via split decision. The bout will be the first on a new multi-fight contract Henderson agreed to with the promotion over the weekend, Sherdog.com has learned. The 38-year-old Henderson (25-7), a two-division Pride champion, is riding high after his second-round knockout of rival “Ultimate Fighter” coach Michael Bisping at UFC 100 on July 11. Former middleweight champion Franklin (25-2) earned a unanimous decision over Wanderlei Silva in a 195-pound bout at UFC 99 last June in Cologne, Germany. Franklin out-maneuvered the Brazilian brawler with a well-executed game plan. |
Will be a competitive fight like the first one... and Rich Franklin isn't going to circle towards Hendo's power fist :p
|
I was hearing Ortiz/Ace at 103, so I guess that rumor is dead..
Hendo will destroy him.. |
good match. I've liked Franklin ever since the first TUF. I'll always remember his bout with Shamrock in the finale
|
I think Franklin will win
|
This card will also feature Koscheck vs Trigg and Crocop vs Dos Santos..
NICE |
SHould be good. Thier first fight was insanely close, so it's a good call.
A bit surprized that they wouldn't go for Franklin-Silva again since they were looking for a rematch. I hope Hendo knocks him out this time. |
That first fight was so close that I would think that the tipping point of having dan win was because he would have been a better fit for the show, but I honestly thought rich won the first fight so it will be interesting to see how the rematch goes.

It's fine.. Ortiz can prolly take Coleman, but once he starts having to fight elite LHW fights, then his true colors will show..
|
Just think, if he has been training and learning new skills from when he was heathly enough following his surgery, to now... He could be a real threat.
Chances are he will be exactly the same fighter as before though, and most of the top guys will have that kind of game measured |
