Could CM Punk lead a stable?
I'm on the fence about this idea, but watching SmackDown! over these past few weeks, I've gotten the impression that Punk is in firm control of where his character is heading. Or he at least has some input. I just had the random thought on SmackDown! that Punk could create a stable on the blue brand once he does turn fully heel.
The WWE has Kaval in FCW. He was one guy that I immediately thought of, and I wonder if the WWE would let Punk bring in someone who has similar roots to him, and sort of run wild as a heel unit on SmackDown!. I wouldn't have a clue who else they would get, but I think a heel Punk could surround himself in men to help him keep the World Heavyweight Title. Is it something you could see happening? |
No, I think he has to have this first run by himself. In future, if he were to turn face and then heel again, then it could be something different they could do with his second heel run.
It could happen though as he would be capable of pulling it off. |
Punk could lead a stable. He's wonderful on the mic and in the ring.
The question is does he need to. I don't think he does. Playing the cowardly heel would be defeating to the "I'm better than you" gimmick. All he needs to do is go out and have brilliant matches with whoever he happens to face and beat them and get heat from the marks by being substance free. Simple and effective. |
He's definitely capable. But would rather see it down the little.
Basically agreeing with The Mackem here. |
i think punk, ziggler and jericho make a good team, but i dont think punk should lead it, just be 1/3 owner

What is it with wrestling fans and stables?
|
Remember back in the Attitude Era when they had lots of awesome stables?
|
Yeah and the only one that didn't suck was DX.
|
You'd never hear a pop today like you heard back in the Attitude Era. Even for a stable like the Oddities.

I am agreeing that it shouldn't happen right away, or anything. In fact, I am leaning less towards a stable now, and more bringing in Kaval as CM Punk's friend and "adviser." Basically a bad-ass who kicks the shit out of faces in the IC Title division. However, if Scotty Goldman and Ace Steel were still under contract, I could so see the WWE doing a Second City Saints run in the WWE at this point in time. |
Sounds good.

I could see him along with Kendrick as arrogent young guys who brag about having a perfect drop-kick/moon-sault better than anyone in the company when they were 13 or something. Saying stuff like they've broken the size barrier in the WWF because they have more talent in their pinkie finger than the rest of the roster etc.
Kofee would fit in if they're forced to turn him heel, the problem with those 2 guys is that I think the WWE wants too build stars out of them on their own, something that might be proved hard to do when you have two/three big stars working together... Seeing as how one would need to be the leader/captain... Who do you think would fit in? I think you might be right about getting new talent or talent from the farm system, FCW or anywhere on the indy circuit. a TNA guy would work too, as most of them pretty much are indy I believe (I don't think many of their wrestlers have to wrestle exclusively with TNA) Is FCW The only one with an official deal with WWE right now? |

Punk could be part of a stable, he couldn't lead one though.

What advice could a rookie have to offer a two-time World Champion, former ECW champ, and former IC champ besides "Yo, keep doin' what ya doin', dawg!"
|
It depends, is it going to be an actual stable, not just one top guy and a couple of oily fuck buddies that aren't interesting in the slightest like Legacy? If its the latter, then no thanks.
But if it could actually elevate who ever's in it, the I guess. But I don't think it a good enough heel to lead a stable, someone like Jericho could do it though. |
