Dixie Carter to buy out TNA from Jarrett?

Quote:

Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch
TNA president Dixie Carter did not reveal her immediate plans at the TV tapings last week, but backstage rumors are swirling of her possibly buying out Jeff Jarrett and making creative changes.
The office was apparently in disarray last week, as some office workers weren’t sure who to speak with regarding things they would normally have gone to Jarrett about. Carter has apparently spoken to some of the top wrestlers personally regarding the situation, but aside from them, the only people in the know are her inner-circle. There likely won’t be any official announcement on her decision for a while.
“Dixie has seized complete control of the company and she will be going over the Jarrett allies (closely),” said one TNA source. “If anyone in her inner circle has something bad to say about those people, they could be gone.”
While Carter has technically been in control of the company since she purchased a majority share, she hasn’t really asserted her power and allowed Jarrett to run the wrestling end of the operation. She has a reputation of avoiding confrontation, but the feeling is that she’s stepping up at a crucial time that will define the company going forward.

I am wondering why nobody has discussed this yet. What huge news?!
Do you think Carter would turn TNA around and stop all the shitty booking? If she starts to eliminate Jarrett's crew does that mean Russo goes? And Dutch Mantell? All these horrible bookers who continually hold TNA back, TNA which has the roster to compete side by side with WWE for top ratings?

kareru 07-31-2009 12:55 PM

i really really hope she does, i think jeff jarrett is great i love the guy but dixie wants to get rid of russo and if that means dixie buying out JJ then im all for it.

erickman 07-31-2009 01:32 PM

she also wants to get rid of west too. hAte to see jeff lose his company, but if she makes it better.

The Jayman 07-31-2009 01:34 PM

I love Jarrett but TNA needs this to happen to bring it out of the shitter. This is a situation where I think what is best for the company. Dixie needs to buyout Jarrett but keep him on the roster.

Hanso Amore 07-31-2009 02:00 PM

Only if she hires good replacements.

This is a major step, it could be a turning point. It probably wont be.

But it could be their version of Bischoff taking over WCW

According to sources, TNA Creative team member Wayne Cowan (former wrestler Dutch Mantel) and TNA Agent Savio Vega have been released by TNA.

Dutch Mantel was very close to Jeff Jarrett. He had been with TNA since 2003. His departure leaves the creative team without a veteran ‘wrestling mind’. This is a big departure for sure.

Savio Vega was brought in as an agent last year after Scott D’Amore’s departure and had been working closely with the Knockouts. He was very close with Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantel as well.

There are many who are questioning Jeff Jarrett’s status with the company as well. These are both huge shakeups within TNA.

what do you mean

the final push for tna to become what it is destined to be?

or the demise?

Seth82 07-31-2009 02:13 PM

Hopefully they fire Don West and replace him with TAZ

That'd be great!

Who can say? Either one or the other, and both are exciting.

Volare 07-31-2009 02:16 PM

Savio and Dutch are gone...this could get interesting.

McLegend 07-31-2009 03:45 PM

What are they gonna do without the creative wrestling mind of Dutch Mantel?

What if a whole new investor comes into the picture, hogan, hart, Bishoff...

wasn't Turner thinking about buying another wraslin' company...

oooohh, that would be very interesting indeed

erickman 07-31-2009 05:43 PM

they need to give more power to jim cornett, he should be there head booker.

Dorkchop 07-31-2009 06:57 PM

Wait.... so some of this is actually true? Crazy. I don't give a shit what happens. I just want Impact to be watchable.

Fox 07-31-2009 07:01 PM

Psst, Dixie, hire Paul Heyman. Fox out.

Xero 07-31-2009 07:05 PM

Finally the booking *might* improve.

Calamondin 07-31-2009 07:40 PM

Getting rid of Dutch Mantel was a step in the right direction.

:y::y: That would be the best thing ever.

Vastardikai 07-31-2009 08:29 PM

So, TNA fired the so called "Carribean Sensation" and the guy who let Victor Quionnes get away with murder.

Good.

Inadequacy 07-31-2009 08:33 PM

Well I hope this ends up being for the best.

kareru 07-31-2009 09:15 PM

what was up with that promo package on impact

'the revolution is coming'
'time for a new style of wrestling'
'are you ready?'

something big is going to happen, or at least a lot small things

Theo Dious 07-31-2009 10:32 PM

Getting rid of the Jarrett and Russo influence in TNA will be the first step in making it into something other than WCW 2.0, therefore Dixie has my total support.

As if she didn't have my support already for being this hot:

imagine heyman as head of creative . would even like to see bischoff in an on screen role.West must either be fired or become a backstage reporter. The ring must lose 2 sides and Russo must get the position of assistant janitor.

Isn't the Knockouts division one of TNA's best wrestling segments ?
Seems like it would make sense to keep Vega unless he was not the actual booker for that division.

Dave Youell 08-01-2009 04:45 AM

Heyman booking please.

But for the love of god don't let him anywhere near a cheque book

Originally, back when it was getting high ratings, I believe Scott D'Amore booked the Knockouts stuff. Recently we've seen TNA actually find a way to make Awesome Kong boring, ODB as someone that the fans can't take seriously and meaningless title switches between Tara and Angelina Love. There have been great moments within the Knockouts Division, don't get me wrong, but I don't think cutting Savio Vega is going to cripple the company.

Dutch Mantel really needed to go. Hopefully Vince Russo is next.

James Steele 08-01-2009 05:16 AM

I hope this leads to Jarrett trying to crawl back to Vince McMahon. It'd be LOL

Volare 08-01-2009 07:04 AM

Bring back Tenessee Lee with him, and let him run around with Lawler. That would actually be funny.

it would be a good move for mcmahon to hire jeff for awhile, it would be like vince and bischoff shakeing hands after wcw.

Xero 08-01-2009 10:34 AM

Except, you know, TNA isn't competition. JJ would be jobbed out.

Heyman could not only fix TNA, but i beleive he can fix wrestling itself

he is 'the one' all prepare a sacrifice for the messiah, bring me Jeff Jarrett

Mr. Nerfect 08-01-2009 10:54 AM

If Jeff Jarrett ended up back with the WWE (and I doubt he would -- I think he'd probably go and work with the NWA or retire from wrestling completely), it would be in the WWE's best interest to use Jarrett as a credible star. From a kayfabe point of view, Jarrett is at least a four-time World Champion, a three-time US Champion, a six-time IC Champion and a one-time World Tag Team Champion. The man's resume alone is a reason for the WWE to present him as someone worth caring about. That he can also speak and wrestle is a bonus.

That being said, JJ would be a definite mid-carder if he re-signed with the company.

i was thinking if he went to wwe he would be raw gm, he would probly have to join the kiss my ass club though.

kareru 08-01-2009 12:16 PM

i don't think jeff will go back to wwe, most likley he will stick to the tna roster as a wrestler
or retire and stay at home and fuck karen angle all day

i know which i'd rather do

Xero 08-01-2009 12:20 PM

I bet it involves light tubes.
