I really thought all the violence that the critics were going on about were going to be insanely distracting and stick out. Like they wouldn't gel with the rest of the movie, but it really worked as a whole. They felt like naturalistic extensions of the character and the extremes they are finding themselves involved in.

I wanna hear your thoughts on it when you finish watching it, sir.

he film has also come under attack for its explicit and often disturbing sexuality, including the opening scene showing a toddler falling to its death while He and She have sex on the bed nearby. The film has also invited controversy for its graphic sexual violence. In one controversial scene, She hits His testicles with a wooden plank so hard that it is implied they are crushed. While He is unconscious, she masturbates him until he ejaculates blood. She then drills a hole through his shin to bolt him onto a grindstone. In a later scene, She cuts off her own clitoris with a pair of rusty scissors.[31]

I know torture porn directors defend their work as artistic by saying it "takes people out of their comfort zone". Bullshit. I could direct a scene about a guy masturbating with his own intestines but that wouldn't make me an artist

Not sure what I thought of the movie overall. I'm a huge fan of Lars Von Trier( who is not a torture porn director). The cinematography was gorgeous and he did a good job of maintaining a creepy atmosphere, the acting was great and it was well paced, but it kinda felt at some points he was "taking the piss." But it was definetly interesting, especially the misogynistic aspects of the film.
