I'm going to see Smackdown next week, live from kansas city...

I watch like 10 minutes of it last week. So someone get me up to speed. Jeff Harvey is the champ again?

Last I heard, Morrison gained another 2 rows on his abs and CM Punk is schooling all the Heels on how to cut a promo, without resorting to kicking them in the head.

It's just like raw, but with a better roster.

Xero 08-10-2009 11:54 AM

And better booking.

Loose Cannon 08-10-2009 12:01 PM

pretty much better everything except for not being on Monday Nights.

- Teddy Long booked Punk/Harvey in a TLC match for SummerSlam, assuming Hardy is able to wrestle by then. Punk's made it a habit of lecturing fans on the evils of drugs and alcohol and destroying Harvey at the end of SmackDown for the past few weeks, telling EMTs last week to "fix him so I can break him again."

- Kane and Khali are in some kind of uber shitty feud, with Kane kidnapping Ranjin Singh last week. There's been no real reasoning for this feud, and it just seems pointless.

- Dolph Ziggler and Rey Mysterio are feuding over the IC title and will have a match at SummerSlam. Ziggler is (kayfabe) banging Maria and did well at the last PPV when he worked a really long match with Mysterio.

- Chris Jericho and Big Show are the tag champs and feuding with Cryme Tyme. Cryme Tyme's been calling Jericho "Christina" and Big Show "Chewbacca". JTG actually had a decent match with Jericho last week.

Overall a much, much more watchable show than Raw.

Fabien Barthez 08-10-2009 12:40 PM

JTG is the far better worker, by all accounts.

Fabien Barthez 08-10-2009 12:41 PM

Than Shad, Not Jericho

OBV!!

mike adamle 08-10-2009 05:58 PM

And Morrison also has an awesome match every week, you can look forward to that too.

Yeah, but I think Shad will be the one to get the singles push, and he's half decent on all accounts.

I agree with this. I think Shad has a fair shot at actually cracking the main event scene, and actually making the WWE a bit of money.

I don't mind the Kane/Khali stuff, actually. I quite enjoyed it last week, with Kane's classic facial expression before he turned his attention to Ranjin Singh. I do heart me some Kane.

Oh, and a large chunk of the guys on SmackDown! are doing some kind of "gangster" gimmick -- R-Truth, Shad Gaspard, JTG and Slam Master J. Cryme Tyme are Cryme Tyme and R-Truth is K-Kwik with slightly more credibility, and Slam Master J is Jesse from Jesse & Festus doing a shtick I think he might have done in the developmentals, where he is pretty much John Cena from 2003.

Kane has been quite awesome as of late. I just hope they don't try to turn this whole program between him and Khali into some crap match at SummerSlam...but I'm worried they will anyway, despite my objections.:(
