Big Show to get Shaq attack

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...lle-ONeal.html

So it looks like Big Show and Shaquille O'Neal will wrestle one on one during a 3 hour episode of Raw next month

The Jayman 08-10-2009 11:45 AM

how very WCW-ish of them

Xero 08-10-2009 11:53 AM

Oh boy.

Innovator 08-10-2009 11:55 AM

At least it's Shaq and not David Arquette

What?!.....you can't count out the former world heavyweight champion..

wwe2222 08-10-2009 12:30 PM

Jericho vs Lebron on the outside?

Fabien Barthez 08-10-2009 01:02 PM

It's really incredible how much Shaq gets away with, considering what he is paid to play ball, and how injured he always is.

A 7ft dude, who spends most of the early season with knee injuries, he trains Gracie JJ in the off season! Now he is wrestling?

Well paid premiership footballers aren't even allow to go on a skiing holiday!

Gerard 08-10-2009 01:07 PM

I take it thats big show on "jobbing for the celeb" duty next month then.

Fabien Barthez 08-10-2009 01:17 PM

Just reminded me of Mayweather.

It was a cool match, but I just remember thinking that having a guy who is virtually a black hornswoggle in stature, beat the biggest, strongest man on the roster can't have been that great for WWE's business in the long run.

owenbrown 08-10-2009 02:29 PM

so Shaq is gonna kill Raw's ratings and Lebron's chances of getting to the NBA Finals this upcoming season :shifty:

Tbf i think WWE has bigger problems with their business than that one moment.

Knew vince was gonna do this anyway, but i really dunno if i would want to see it.

owenbrown 08-10-2009 02:32 PM

everybody at Raw that night getting a free copy of Shaq-Fu?

Oh for sure, but a selection of bad moments create a bad circumstance.

Ol Dirty Dastard 08-10-2009 03:08 PM

Meh people can say what they want but it's pretty easy to buy Shaq as a threat given his mastadon-esque stature, and he oozes charisma.

That would be fine with me. Once Shaq goes down and Cavs are out, than Lebron can ship off to NY.

Ol Dirty Dastard 08-10-2009 03:32 PM

And also he takes care of himself much more than the Big Show. Shaq looks like an athlete, Big Show looks like he ate 5 athletes. As far as cred goes, it'd make a lot of sense for Shaq to beat down Show. Maybe after jobbing out to an NBA player, show would get motivated to get on a god damned treadmill.

Ol Dirty Dastard 08-10-2009 03:35 PM

And I'm usually not critical of physiques, but when you're straight obese, I need to say something.

Agreed. That match was quite enjoyable though, for some odd reason. As far as Shaq...well, I just don't get why they hate Big Show.

Anybody Thrilla 08-10-2009 05:32 PM

I wonder if Shaq will implement any of that Shaq Fu that he's so notorious for.

IC Champion 08-10-2009 05:34 PM

This match up could have been saved for a PPV and might have actually drew something.

Anybody Thrilla 08-10-2009 05:39 PM

After the attention that Shaq's Raw apperance got in the mainstream, I think making it free is a good plan. People would definitely tune in for free to see Shaq, but they might not pay 40 bucks for it. If the rest of the show is awesome (doubtful, but such is the theory) then maybe some of those people will tune in again next week.

Jordan 08-10-2009 07:28 PM

I think its a great idea, and I'd definitely watch it.

And I mean it couldn't be too bad. Shaq's a good athlete, and he does do mma, it could work out. Then again it could be completely atrocious. As long as they get him to do simple shit it should be fine.

Droford 08-10-2009 08:12 PM

Why not at Summerslam?

Anybody Thrilla 08-10-2009 08:28 PM

Shaq also does Tae Bo, which is pretty much the most badass martial art on the planet.

Ol Dirty Dastard 08-10-2009 08:59 PM

And he spits a better flow than Cena

I'm willing to bet that Shaq's payday for a free cable television match would be less than a PPV event. Plus people may not be willing to pay $40 to see Shaq in a worked match. I thought it'd be a good Mania match and all but I forgot that the NBA would be grinding down to the end around Mania time, so that'd be out the window until Shaq retired.

Indifferent Clox 08-10-2009 09:16 PM

Vince Russo would not only do this idea better, but "david Arquette" better!

Droford 08-10-2009 09:37 PM

Odds are good this RAW will run up against MNF and new fall shows and thus be a flop in the ratings. I hope they blame Shaq and ditch the celebrity crap.

Anybody Thrilla 08-10-2009 09:38 PM

They'll blame The Big Show, probably.

Jordan 08-10-2009 09:41 PM

I'd say if Shaq was wrestling Big Show on free TV no matter what they went against would get huge ratings.

Indifferent Clox 08-10-2009 09:42 PM

and the IWC will blame RUSSO like it always does. FUCKING DIRT SHEET WRITERS! OMG RARWGWGWG

Sorry all this russo hate makes me feel all the colors of the emotional spectrum.

Anybody Thrilla 08-10-2009 09:44 PM

You're devoted, Clox. I'll give you that.

Indifferent Clox 08-10-2009 09:50 PM

Yeah, but will you give russo his due? I THINK NOT

I SAY GOOD DAY!

Pardeep 619 08-10-2009 09:58 PM

What ratings do you guys think WWE could get with Shaq vs Big Show? Maybe a 4.5 tops?

Mr. Nerfect 08-11-2009 10:05 AM

Eh, at least it's top billing for Big Show. And I'm not too up-to-date on my Shaq -- if he does MMA and shit, he could be put over as a credible opponent for Show. Especially if they hype that he is training with someone, and whatnot.

I'd mark out for a Shaq heel turn, though, with him joining Chris Jericho and Big Show can beating down John Cena.

Sixx 08-11-2009 11:04 AM

They should mix the rape storylines with celebrity athlete guests and just bring Kobe.

Mr. Nerfect 08-11-2009 11:36 AM

Kobe vs. Kane with Katie Vick's ghost as special guest referee?

and she wears a kane mask but in Lakers' colors.....who's side is she on?:?:

Sixx 08-11-2009 03:44 PM

Ted Bundy's ghost would be a good special referee idea, too.
