So, Muse are gearing up for the release of their new album, The Resistance. Two tracks released so far.

So, what do people think of Muse? Personally, they're my favorite band, and the best live act around at the moment.

I really like muse, but they aren't my favorite band. I will concede that they do have one of the best live acts, however.

Can't wait for this album.

First video is gone - heard the song elsewhere, seems fairly good (even if it bits of it sound very, very familiar).

I heard United States of Eurasia - I'm still not totally sure about it. I think I like it, but it needs more time.

I like Muse. Will probably get the album.

They're doing 2 "secret" shows near me in about a month in a town which I don't believe has ever hosted a gig in its history (Teignmouth where the band formed). Should be good if I can snap up some tickets, which is probably unlikely.

On topic, Uprising is a bit of a grower but I am liking United States of Eurasia....a lot.

Muse are an odd one for me, I do like them, but I fall in and out of love with them really easily, I've seen them a few times live as well, once was one of the best gigs I've ever seen and the second (at Reading 200...5? 6? I forget) bored me so much I left and went to watch another band.

All in all though, I'm liking this a lot more than some of their other recent efforts, so will probably get the album

Both songs are immense

Not sure what I expected, after all, it is Muse.

I was in a huge Muse phase when Black Holes came out and listened to it a ton. But since then they've become kind of played out for me and am getting a little sick of their schtick.

HOWEVER, they are the best live act around today, no doubt.

Also, United States of Eurasia confirms my theory that they are the modern queen only not as good, and not tongue in cheek

Muse is solid. I've only heard like 3 songs, but I've enjoyed them all greatly. "Starlight" is a good one.

Plug In Baby?

Thats from Origin of Symmetry, their second (and probably best) album. The one thats just come out is album 5.

Beyond excited that they are opening for U2 in Atlanta.

I still think Muscle Museum is their best song, but I love Muse. I can't wait to see them live again.

Pretty awesome as usual, but it doesn't top origin. Dunno where I'd put it in regards to the other albums yet.

Not even close to the caliber of Origin. I would say it's better than their last album, as I really wasn't a fan of more than a couple songs from that CD.

Really not sure on this.. nothing is REALLY catchy like on their first three albums, IMO. It's different, that's for sure.. but I feel like they're starting to go WAY too far from their old sound.

On second thought, there are a few pretty great songs on this CD. On the whole, still not as good as Origins. But I am starting to enjoy several songs on this one a lot.

Pretty absurd as usual, not quite as good as their other stuff though.

Alot of songs start out with pretty awesome riffs but then delve into mediocrity (The Resistance, MK Ultra)

Absurd is definitely the word for the album. Its some ridiculous over-the-top arena rock that I'll be interested to see how it translates live.

Yeah, same here. Second listen gave me a better appreciation, but it's still no origin.

Resistance is probably my favorite song from the album, followed by Undisclosed Desires.

I find them horribly overrated and very boring and very annoying.
