Taz offically replacing Don West as color commentator. Granted, TNA still seems like a shitty show, but I might be more willing to watch it if I don't want to rip my ears off during the broadcast.

This is probably a step in a better direction. Yes, West became better, but who the fuck is he and why should he be calling a nationally televised wrestling show? Taz has got more of a claim here, so more power to him for taking over. He and Mike Tenay might have some chemistry, too.

Taz has some star power to, which west didn't. Smart decision for once, TNA.

West was just plain awful, there's no way around that. He was sorta entertaining when he remembered that he was supposed to be a heel. All the jumping back and forth shit was ridiculous. Will miss the matching shirt/tie combos, though.

Still would've rather gotten rid of Tenay... I know, he's play-by-play and it would've made no sense, I just hate him though.

This is so bizarre.

Honestly, one of the main reasons I stopped watching TNA was because the announcing was so god awful to listen too. No matter how good the guys in the ring were, hearing Don West's nasally, irritating voice talking about them forced me to change the channel. Thank God someone finally decided to pull the trigger.

I hope Taz remains a heel on commentary, though. This may be an unpopular opinion, but Taz in the booth can be hit or miss. Especially when compared to some of the men who have done color commentary in the WWE over the years (JBL, Mick Foley and Matt Striker come to mind). The man needs some sort of character to keep him on point.

I was just watching iMPACT!, and it surprises me how entertaining I found Don West. "Reminds me of my ex-wife; give her a shot and she takes her shirt off." Taz doesn't deliver a line like that without giggling. I'd rather Mick Foley take over from West, to be honest. But whatever.

Hopefully we got a focused Taz, who can inject some personality into his style.

Don West's new heel announcing style was getting me more interested in TNA (granted, it's all I really have access to at the moment). Shame he's gone.

i am hopeng they get tazz to be like the brain, i know west tried to be brain like. tenay and the brain were gold back in the wcw days, tenay needs a good heel to do his best.

Someone needs to post that "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT" gif of Don West.

And I'm certainly willing to reserve judgment. I'm not saying Tenay won't be a good play-by-play guy with Taz next to him, it's just that I've never seen him as the main guy at the table. He knows his stuff, no doubt, but I just think he'd be better used as the fact-spouting guy who chimes in throughout the show.

I will no disagree with you there, screech. But who else for play-by-play?
