Help me get my girlfriend into The Wire
 

My girlfriend has pretty good tastes. She loved Battle star Galactica, True blood, and even shows like NCIS. She likes all the shit i like most of the time and introduces me to awesome stuff all the time. For some reason, however, she just doesn't think the wire will interest her. I'm like "cmon it's supposed to be the best show on tv according to some" she likes a lot of crime shows and stuff like deadwood, and from what i've watched (5 eps) I think she'd love it. However, in order to get her into it, please tell her some reasons here it is the best show on TV or at least really awesome.

And don't just say "have her watch an episode"

Thought this was something about helping your gf get a part on the show or something. She already likes a lot of shows you like. Why do you want her to like The Wire?

How about this question then "what's the big deal about the wire? why should I watch it?"

Make sure she is properly inflated and just sit her infront of the tv WHILE playing The Wire.

The first season is mad slow. I didn't even "really" like it that much til like the 8th or 9th episode of the first season, then I was hooked.

Thanks man. I really like it already but probably because of the aforementioned (in another thread) hype that has already made me notice how it could get amazing.

Like Trips said, started off so slow. Then got into it for last few episodes were I could just keep watching back to back. Then second season I never got my grove on for that and that's where I stopped. Def want to get back into ti tho.

I liked season 2 a lot better than season 1.

Then season 3 and 4 were about 8,000 times better than season 2. Fucking incredible seasons.

Season 5 was also fantastic.

I have never seen an episode of The Wire, but keep hearing good things about it here. I think I may have to do some downloading. :y:

In a weird twist of fate, I noticed today that ABC here in Australia will be airing the first season of The Wire weekly starting Tuesday. Hoorah!

What is censorship like in ausralia? Unless it's really loose then do yourself a favor and watch the DVDs
