Better Movie #29

Dumb & Dumber devoured Bull Durham like it was the soup of the day. So that's two victories for our spunky Rhode Island duo.

This next round is going to be a bit of a social experiment. If Dumb & Dumber wins, Jimmy Stewart will probably jump off a bridge.

Polls are open for three days. Happy voting.

And as always, tell us why you voted the way you did. If you don't, you will be subjected to manly love at 2:15 AM SHARP

Ive already posted enough to bring it home for D&D.

Wonderful Life is a Christmas Classic, but it's kind of boring

Seth82 08-20-2009 11:57 PM

Wonderful Life is oddly weird to be considered a classic but every year it seems it is

as the guy is on the verge of suicide IIRC

it's a great christmas movie but I still gotta go with D&D

KYR 08-21-2009 12:00 AM

Unlike the previous two posters (Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber) I'm voting for It's a Wonderful Life.

Mainly because I can't stand Jim Carey.

Yes you heard me correctly.

Hornicane 08-21-2009 12:26 AM

I voted for IAWL. I don't mind Carey, I just didn't really like D&D. :-\

Skippord 08-21-2009 12:35 AM

I voted for Dumb And Dumber

cause I'm not 70 years old

Loose Cannon 08-21-2009 12:41 AM

lol burned

Jeritron 08-21-2009 01:16 AM

that reasoning makes a lot of sense...

Jeritron 08-21-2009 01:17 AM

The problem here is that 80% of the people who will vote in this poll have likely never seen IAWL, and will not give it a chance.
As a result, you're really just parading the height of ignorance

BDR 08-21-2009 01:29 AM

I've seen IAWL and I didn't really like it.

mitch_h 08-21-2009 01:34 AM

I went with IAWL sure, it is pretty corny and sentimental, but I guess that's what makes it so endearing, plus I seem to watch it every Christmas. .

DaveWadding 08-21-2009 01:49 AM

It's a Wonderful Life is one of the best movies ever made.

I had to watch it every Christmas Eve when I was a kid. For that reason alone I hate it now.

Now if you had gone with A Christmas Story, I might have been persuaded to vote against Dumb and Dumber..

Jeritron 08-21-2009 08:03 AM

Frank Capra

The Jayman 08-21-2009 08:49 AM

D&D. I only seem to watch IAWL one time a year, Christmas time.

Skippord 08-21-2009 10:25 AM

I actually have seen It's a Wonderful Life and it's a good movie

I just feel strange justifying why I vote for movies. But Supreme's threats always scare me into saying why :(

Rammsteinmad 08-21-2009 10:33 AM

Dumb & Dumber.

Never seen It's a Wonderful Life, but Dumb & Dumber is awesome and would have probably got my vote anyway.

thedamndest 08-21-2009 12:05 PM

I don't care for It's a Wonderful Life...

Lock Jaw 08-21-2009 05:12 PM

I don't care for Dumb & Dumber...

thedamndest 08-21-2009 06:28 PM

I'm actually not that big on Dumb and Dumber either. In the grand scheme of Jim Carrey comedies I would put it somewhere in the middle.

But in the grand scheme of Jimmy Stewart movies (that I have seen), It's a Wonderful Life is right at the end.

Jeritron 08-21-2009 06:40 PM

Jimmy Stewart is probably one of my top 5 favorite actors

Nicky Fives 08-21-2009 06:45 PM

Dumb & Dumber by a mile..... that was a classic.... wouldn't a remake with Carrey/Daniels be great????

XCaliber 08-21-2009 10:22 PM

Even though IAWL is one of the few classic films that I like i'd still say D&D is a bigger favorite of mine I just don't like watching festive movies other than during the holidays.
