HBK VS THE UNDERTAKER

just want to start off sayin alot of people will disagree with me and thats fine i dun really care but , do people feel that the undertaker cost HBK the best years of his career ?

kareru 08-28-2009 01:30 PM

wow an undertaker and hbk thread

finally something new and different

Supreme Olajuwon 08-28-2009 01:33 PM

We need your opinion on the matter before we disagree with you, Mr Magic.

CSL 08-28-2009 01:36 PM

No. Shit happens in wrestling, you get injured. Michaels won't have any ill-regard towards Taker, he didn't do anything wrong. It was just bang on bad luck.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-28-2009 01:51 PM

If anything cost HBK the best years of his career, it's karma.

Londoner 08-28-2009 01:51 PM

Dino Bravo cost Gun the best bullet in its chamber.

ozzman6669 08-28-2009 01:59 PM

On one side you can say that the back injurie sufered against taker put HBK out during the best years of the business, HBK during the attitude era would have been the best thing ever, but without that injurie that put him out, he probably would be dead of a heart faillure caused by all the shit he stop taking during his time off.

This guy right here is a doctor. Listen to him.

at the end of the day its a hypothetical question, wat i probably shoukd of asked his do people still think Stone cold , The Rock , HHH, mankind to a degree would of been sucessfull if the MAIN EVENT SHAWN MICHAELS WAS STILL AROUND ?

wwe2222 08-28-2009 02:17 PM

I thought his back would have probably given out eventually anyway? Maybe I am mistaken. I know the main injury was from the casket, but I thought he was in bad shape as it was.

thedamndest 08-28-2009 02:19 PM

If you ask me, HBK was heading towards a breakdown. The time off did him a lot of good by getting him cleaned up, so in retrospect I think it may have actually helped save his life.

I don't think so personally. I think HBK has put on far better matches from 2002 on then in his earlier career. I can list only certain matches from before 2002 I actually enjoyed. I mean obviously vs. Bret, Razor (Summerslam, I wasn't a huge fan of WMX to be honest) and a few others, but more of his five star classics happened after the back injury, maybe taker made Shawn Michaels better. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that's just my view.

Sidenote: The Undertaker has had better matches from 2002 on as well. I think that's pretty interesting. Whatever it is, that Casket match in 1998 symbolically closed the lid on both The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels careers and they almost had a rebirth to where they are guaranteed to both have a good match with a mop and keep the fans into it. I mean let's face it Taker vs. HBK from 98 pales in comparison to their match in 2009, though both are good. I know everyone likes their cell match the best of who i talk to, but I think that was mostly for Kane's debut, WM25 was the match of the year.

Anybody Thrilla 08-31-2009 07:08 PM

Even before the Kane debut, the Hell in a Cell at Badd Blodd was a pretty great match.
