Anyone else played the demo for it yet? Just finished the demo, very impressed. It's like a B action movie from the 70's mixed with slow motion gunfights ala Max Payne.

Kane Knight 08-31-2009 01:58 PM

I downloaded this and then forgot it. I must try it.

D Mac 08-31-2009 02:57 PM

Yeah it's pretty cool.

The Destroyer 08-31-2009 03:00 PM

Too many quick time events for my tastes.

Disturbed316 08-31-2009 05:59 PM

Its a giant pile of wank.

Kalyx triaD 09-01-2009 12:25 AM

Cool music.

Funky Fly 09-01-2009 01:36 AM

Demo was pretty cool. Love the atmosphere, especially the music. Very Tarantino, which I love.

The action is going to get hella repetitive tho, if they don't have more moves than what they had in the demo. :-\

Also, what quicktime events? Everything is all slowmo gun kata and kinda one dimensional swordplay.

LoDownM 09-01-2009 01:44 AM

The end of the demo is full of them, but that's only because you are jumping from car to car.

Funky Fly 09-01-2009 01:53 AM

Oh right the car bit. I imagine that part of the game being much harder if you had to time it all yourself. Other than that, it's still got nothing on Ninja Blade AKA Ninja Gaiden 3: Cyborg Demon Quick Time Party

There'll be a lot more moves than in the demo, at least there should be.

Funky Fly 09-05-2009 07:07 PM

I dunno, It really didn't seem like there would be. I'm betting there will be alternate attire and upgradeable weapons (the usual fare for these types of games) but nothing really groundbreaking.

LoDownM 09-05-2009 07:53 PM

The makers said in another trailer that they're not shooting for anything ground breaker , just a short over the top fun game.

I haven't played that demo yet, but I'm just guessing. Generally, demo's are supposed to give you a taste of the game. Like Arkham Asylum, you could do a bunch of stuff, but not all of it. If they let you do all the moves and stuff right in the demo, then it isn't a very good demo.

Funky Fly 09-05-2009 08:47 PM

Play the demo and see for yourself. The Arkham Asylum Demo made it quite obvious that there would be upgrades. The controls screen showing that you could switch gadgets with the d-pad, the destructible wall that you need the foam for... quite obvious indeed.

Wet, gives no indication of that. You just see the 3 main modes. Plus the arena battles with endlessly spawning enemies as part of the story? Not really a good sign, but I bet I'd still enjoy the shit out of this.

Verbose Minch 09-05-2009 08:55 PM

Hmm, okay. I've heard mixed things about the demo, I don't want to download a demo for nothing. Was it actually enjoyable, or was it just average?

Funky Fly 09-05-2009 08:58 PM

I liked it. It's not gonna kill you to d/l it.

Verbose Minch 09-05-2009 08:59 PM

Oh, it'll kill me alright. Please, help me.

therocksays 09-06-2009 07:46 PM

pretty good demo, I liked it.

alvarado52 09-09-2009 04:41 PM

thought it was a pretty good game honestly, nothing revolutionary, but the style of the game really is the selling point over the gameplay (which isnt bad either, its just...like i)

D Mac 09-09-2009 05:03 PM

Reminds me of that game Stranglehold in which I've only played the demo of that, too.

D Mac 09-15-2009 07:33 AM

LOL only a 6.6 from IGN.

Kalyx triaD 09-15-2009 07:50 AM

IGN reviews are mostly ass, good for slight consideration at best. Although it just so happens that I'd give this effort a solid 3/5, which is about IGN's 7s.

Funky Fly 09-15-2009 07:05 PM

I find what IGN actually writes about a game is usually fairly accurate. Then they kinda give it an arbitrary number to go with the review.

Verbose Minch 09-16-2009 05:59 AM

I just watched a trailer. It's Kill Bill in video game form.

BigDaddyCool 09-16-2009 05:04 PM

Does she get naked?

Seriously, I want a game with great game play and naked chicks.

Kalyx triaD 09-16-2009 06:34 PM

Bayonetta.

D Mac 09-16-2009 07:19 PM

I knew I recognized Rubi's voice. Eliza Dushku.

Fignuts 09-16-2009 07:44 PM

Yeah, gonna wait for this to be 30 bucks at blockbuster.

Got Halo:ODST, the new Smackdown, and Winning Eleven or Fifa to get.

D Mac 09-16-2009 08:17 PM

soccer

Fignuts 09-16-2009 08:33 PM

You are a massive tool.

ClockShot 09-16-2009 08:36 PM

Gets repetive and boring after a while. Same old sword moves, getting sick and tired of having to slide and jump to get better, powerful kills.

Devs should have held on to it and worked it out alittle longer, probably could be much, much better.

Kalyx triaD 09-16-2009 08:41 PM

lol They worked on this for years. I agree there should have been more variety.

Nope. I just hate soccer.

Fignuts 09-16-2009 11:26 PM

I love how you remind everyone of the things you hate over and over again.

As if this was The People's Attention Defecit Disorder Website, and we didn't get it first 10 times.

You and Clox should form your own social group.

Kalyx triaD 10-08-2009 11:55 PM

Aliza Dusku mused about playing Rubi in live action as well. That would be really cool.
