Brainbusters.... I still hate them both.... but I hate Hogan more

Executioner 09-02-2009 08:13 PM

Brainbusters...Arn and Tully could cut great promos AND WRESTLE! Plus, Hogan sucks...so no contest.

Ruien 09-02-2009 08:29 PM

How could you not pick Mega Powers?

Mega Powers times 1000. Best Tag team ever that didn't include Jannetty.

You can't be serious.

When it comes to Jannetty, I'm always serious.

In fact, with that tool Michaels on board, the Mega Powers probably could have beaten the Rockers. So maybe I was wrong...

Juan 09-02-2009 09:49 PM

Why is Marty getting owned in your avatar?

Jannetty aside, who is an great wrestler, I cannot put any team not in the HoF above Arn and Tully as a better tag team. The Midnight Express come very close, yet I would still go with Arn and Tully.

The Gold Standard 09-02-2009 10:13 PM

Mega Powers. I still love Hogan no matter what happens to him.

Godfather4Life 09-02-2009 10:20 PM

mega powers exploddddddddddddddddddddddddddddde

Juan 09-02-2009 10:21 PM

Gotta be honest, I'm a little surprised that the Mega Powers are in the lead right now.

Juan 09-02-2009 10:22 PM

Especially considering how little votes other "two main eventers thrown together" teams get in these polls.

Triple Naitch 09-02-2009 10:23 PM

Mega Powers were better individually, but Brain Busters were the better team. Still voted for Mega Powers for some reason. :-\

I thought it best represented his WWF stints post-Rockers.

Brainbusters.

I mean FFS, The Megapowers teamed for what, like two seconds. Keeping in mind that there was fuck all televised events back then so the whole 12 month period they were together, if it was that long, would be like a months time now.

Tazz Dan 09-02-2009 11:45 PM

Double Post

Testicle 09-03-2009 12:17 AM

Megapowers. As good as Arn and Tully were, its friggen Hogan and Macho their going up against. They were both at the top of their games back then and they had a huge angle to build going on with elizabeth.

IRodC 09-03-2009 12:29 AM

my admiration for randy savage has the same weight as my hatred of hogan so its brainbusters for me oh and also

BE A MAN HULK!

Agreed 100%. A Brain Busters victory here only proves how out of touch the IWC can be at times. (Which is conversely the same amount the general fan base can be out of touch sometimes.)

Gertner 09-03-2009 02:43 AM

Ughm this is annoying. STOP VOTING FOR WRESTLERS BASED ON THEIR INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS!!!!!! Arn and Tully were a MUCH better tag team.

muffalufagus 09-03-2009 02:44 AM

MP. Such a Mach Man mark. I can't vote against him.

Loved the Mega Powers and almost voted for them off the back of Liz's skirt removal at Summerslam '88 but Brain Busters are quite possibly top 5 of all time

The Jayman 09-03-2009 10:01 AM

I had to go with Mega Powers. I hated Hogan but I was a mark for Savage. I guess I voted for them b/c it was one of the few times that a "dream" team was put together

owenbrown 09-03-2009 11:10 AM

oh gee um this is a toughie... Arn and Tully FTMFW

Lock Jaw 09-03-2009 08:10 PM

Mega Powers was such a huge thing when I was a kid. They were like the biggest thing ever. When the Mega Powers exploded.... that was like a major event of my childhood. Sad as that is.

DarKCentaur 09-04-2009 01:43 AM

How The Mega Powers are losing this is beyond me.

311 09-04-2009 02:34 AM

Because the Mega Powers weren't a great tag team. They were a couple of huge stars who teamed together VERY briefly.

Watching Arn and Tully, or Arn and Ole for that matter, is like a tag-team clinic. Echo whoever said top five of all time...I'm too damn lazy to look back at who it was.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-04-2009 02:45 AM

Yeah this shouldn't be as close as it is.

Horseman Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard set the standard for tag teams. It might just say Brain Busters but I am also counting their great run as multi-time NWA Tag team champions too. Years of working together wins out over an alliance made to manufacture a PPV title feud.

The Mega Powers had one PPV match tag team match together and one Survivor Series match. Then they blew up to set up Wrestlemania V. At Wrestlemania V, the Brainbusters put Girls In Cars on the shelve forever by ending Strike Force for good. So, Wrestlemania V goes to The Busters.
