Tony Atlas

Fire him. He actually made Abraham Washington worse.

Exyle 09-03-2009 05:58 PM

A-huh-huh-huh!

Juan 09-03-2009 06:02 PM

I thought his fake laugh was hilarious

Afterlife 09-03-2009 06:05 PM

It was unbearable!

I think that was probably the point

Afterlife 09-03-2009 06:20 PM

Making people turn away is not the goal of television.

He sounded like Louis from Revenge of the Nerds. Only embarrassing.

mike adamle 09-03-2009 06:47 PM

It was funny at first but got old fast.

#1-norm-fan 09-03-2009 06:52 PM

Also, him telling Katie Lea that she was hot was kinda funny.

Remember the point of the show is to annoy you. Its heat. Its seems to be working.

I watched that without smiling or laughing, wasn't too hard.

DAMN iNATOR 09-04-2009 12:13 AM

Tony definitely needs to be fired...he was awful on ECW last Tuesday. So bad as a matter of fact, that he actually almost made Abraham Washington seem funny and interesting for once. Not quite, but still, almost. And that's sayin' something, right there folks.

Halbowsky 09-04-2009 01:09 AM

My only problem is that Tony Atlas was so good that it will unfortunately make me look forward to The Abraham Washington Show skits just for Atlas.

And on a side note, those Abraham Washington Show mugs add a little nice thing to the whole skit. I want one of those.

311 09-04-2009 01:27 AM

Why do people think that heat like this is good?

If I'm annoyed at the program, I change the channel. I'm looking for a show, not something legitimately annoying. It's not like I'm going to jump out of my seat screaming "KICK HIS ASS GREGORY HELMS! OMG I FUCKING HATE THAT GUY! YEAH! I LOVE WRESTLING!"

Honestly, how out of touch are people these days. It's not 1980 anymore.

Juan 09-04-2009 01:34 AM

Because most wrestling fans will watch anyway

I was just gonna do this, but thanks for saying it first. The only reason I sat thru the Abe segment was to see what Burchill/Hurricane business would be set up. And what they did, they could have done entirely without the embarrassingly horrid Abe skit. There is no reason to continue the bad improv, let alone adding worse elements to it.

DAMN iNATOR 09-04-2009 08:34 AM

They should just fire them both already, and open up a couple of slots for new guys who actually want to put out a decent product.

Anybody Thrilla 09-04-2009 11:26 AM

I really thought he had been fired already. Thought he was kinda funny, though. I like the Abraham Washington Show...not so much because of him, but because they at least advance storylines with it.

Skippord 09-04-2009 11:31 AM

I agree with Anybody Thriller

and I disagree with DAMN iNATOR

so all is right with the world

But the storylines can be advanced without it.

DAMN iNATOR 09-04-2009 12:00 PM

Yeah, really. I mean, I don't wanna hear a Johnny Carson wannabe and an Ed McMahon wannabe, one of which is trying to be funny whilst advancing a story line, and the other laughing in a manner almost as annoying as Fran Drescher...it's failed comedy bits like these that have given RAW the black eye it's had for months on end now, and if they don't stop on ECW, well, there go the 12 viewers they had every Tuesday.

Anybody Thrilla 09-04-2009 12:54 PM

It CAN be advanced without it, but I think it's a nice avenue to advance storylines. Abraham gets over as an annoying prick, and when he finally does make his in-ring debut, people will be clamoring for him to get his shit kicked in. I like it because it's something a little different than backstage interviews and run-ins. Abraham Washigton is NOT going to be the downfall of ECW. Settle down.

Oh, jeez, but it's NOT any different than regular shit -- except that it's very poorly performed every single fucking time. If you took away Washington from the last episode, the Helms/Burchill thing would not only have happened, we wouldn't have been tempted to turn off the show beforehand.

Sans Washington:

Burchill is in the ring, talking about how he's not an idiot, and anyone who believes Helms isn't the Hurricane IS an idiot and he's going to call him out right now. Gregory Helms, with no fanfare, walks onto the stage, denies being the superhero. Burchill rants on him, and is interrupted by the Hurri-Cam. Afterward, Burchill accepts the challenge, and storms away.

(That pun was honest-to-god unintentional)

And the thing about all this, is that I like both Burchill and Helms, and not ONCE did I feel compelled to turn off my fucking television.

It's not about Washington being the downfall, and I'm not sure where you're getting that. But if they wanted to rehire X-Pac, I"m sure he's available.

I get Abraham Washington being the downfall from you saying that he makes people want to change the channel. No viewers is a downfall, I'd say.

Normal people will turn away. I'm an avid fan, and I consider it. But even if we all turn away, his segments are maybe ten to fifteen minutes. He won't kill the whole show, just the part nobody wants to see -- the part with him.

thedamndest 09-05-2009 04:55 PM

Abraham Washington is the goods. Next ECW GM.
