What should come back?

I'm doing this one because it was an idea that kind of, popped into my head during the "How did he get Over" thread.

Basically, it's this. A couple things from the '80s and early '90s of WWF programming that was great (imo) that should come back (again imo).

The choices?

Event Center Promos:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V2nnHyA2FRU&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V2nnHyA2FRU&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Straight forward. They promoted their storylines behind custom made backdrops. Some more awesome than others (see Mr. Perfect). Anyway, it usually sold the character, and was a great way to sell whatever program that's upcoming.

Debut Vignettes:

They've been used as recently as Finlay and Cade & Murdoch, but the best ones sold performers like no other. Here's a great example right here...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/I_oe1YoGsVY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I_oe1YoGsVY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I liked the Event Center Promos

Skippord 09-08-2009 08:34 PM

Mordecai's debut videos were the best part about him

sadly

Just because of Mr. Perfect...I gotta go with Debut Vignettes. I think building the character leads to building the feuds.

Event Center Promos. When they do the Debut Vignettes, they OVERdo them. See also: Cryme Tyme, R Truth.

It's OK if the wrestler doesn't come out to a huge pop in his first match. Give him a little mic time and let him wow us with what he can do in the ring.

Sean O'Haires debut vignettes were golden.

You're not telling me anything that I don't already know.

I've got to say event center promos. They were more storyline relevant.

XCaliber 09-09-2009 10:03 AM

Debut vignettes are still done eg Kizarny so obviously I voted for the other.

The Jayman 09-09-2009 10:19 AM

Event center promos b/c they actually built on the storylines.

On an unrelated note, I would like to submit that the greatest thing Savage ever did was Elizabeth.

it was also the greatest thing Lex Luger did

Godfather4Life 09-09-2009 01:54 PM

She obviously wasn't that good since Luger killed her.

And that's no knock on his epic matches, either.

Mickie wearing skirts. That's what should come back. High Five!

Droford 09-12-2009 12:57 AM

TV Time Limits!

Oh wait..I have to choose from two lame options..

Debut vignettes suck because they hype up a new guy way too much and theres no way the guy can live up to the hype.

so event center promos...I guess.
