Hardkore Kidd J 04-06-2004 09:15 PM

I got to give my props to Boston. They seem like a real good team. [ DOn't expect me to say anything else good about the Sox I'm a Yanks fan] But, Sox have earned my respect.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-08-2004 12:32 AM

That Arroyo guy pitched like shit tho.....oh well

Jays new unis = terrible

The Icon of Elisim 04-10-2004 01:33 AM

Halladay vs Pedro tommorow, should be pretty sweet

I feel bad for Johnny Damon he's had a rough week, the last thing that the Sox need is for him to go down

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-10-2004 01:36 AM

Hopefully Pedro does better then last game :(

I dunno..2-3 right now..its realllllly early but they need every victory they can get this year

MVP 04-10-2004 12:08 PM

Halladay's 1-3, I think Pedro can pull it off.

Why? we might get a real leadoff hitter in his place...

I like damon, but he hasn't played like a lead off hitter, he needs to start putting it off the wall, not trying to put it over the bullpen.

Can't fault them too much for yesterday, only had 1 pitcher... I mean, you could have warmed up Pedro or something... but it's early in the season.

1-3? he's pitched 4 games already? what, do the jays have a 2man rotation?

Anyway, wins don't mean crap, they're not a real judge of a pitcher.

ERA, Opposing batting avg, Strike outs, Walk to SO ratio. Those are pitcher stats.

A pitcher can go 9 innings, strike out 20, and give up only 1 hit a solo homer, but if the offense can't score... he's screwed.

Crimson 04-10-2004 03:02 PM

Both Halladay and Pedro had shaky opening day starts. Get ready for a pitchers duel today. I got Halladay on my fantasy team so he better come thru.

Damon's pretty valuable on the defensive end though. And I'm thinking it would suck mainly because the Soxs have already lost Nomar and Nixon

Gertner 04-10-2004 06:20 PM

Sox are gonna get swept!!!

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-10-2004 07:53 PM

Dont get me wrong, I like Damon but its not like its a big hit. He has good range in running down flyballs and stuff but his arm is not very impressive

Although he did gun down one guy already this season, but that is very rare.

We need Nomaaa and Trot back :(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-10-2004 07:53 PM

Gettin Noma would let Reese move over to 2nd and it would get Belhorn out of the batting line up

MVP 04-11-2004 12:55 AM

Agreed, Bellhorn needs to be benched.

So does Crespo.

He does have good speed/range... but I've been impressed w/ Kapler out there... There saying he's as fast, possible faster then Damon.

Stima - as for the play at the plate, that was bad running... everyone knows Damon has a weak arm... heck, half the players in the league have a weak arm...

Look at guys in the 70's or before... guys that could hit the catcher, dead-on... maybe w/ a 1 hopper, sometimes no hop.

Loose Cannon 04-11-2004 07:24 PM

Stupid me forgot to put Schilling in for my FB team. I know he lost, but he had like 10 K's. And I also have Colon on the bench right now. Dammit.

He Lost?

Last I checked when your team wins, but your not the winning pitcher it's a no decision, not a loss...

Nice to see Pedro and then Schilling going deep in games, Lowe should also be able to go 7-8innings... which makes our bullpen more deadly.

There also pitching Pedro & Schilling every 5days, Pedro is going to pitcher Thursday and Schilling Friday, so 4 days rest, every 5th day, there going to pitch. I wouldn't be suprised to see the same from Lowe and even Wake could do it, which with off days, would put us really close to being a 4man staff, w/ Arrojo as a fill-in.

Like the old days of baseball... 4man rotation.

Oh sh**, those mother f'ers came back. Dam Vel, you just made me feel even worse that I didn't put him in. :( What's up Blue Jays.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-11-2004 10:32 PM

Ortiz jacked a bomb in the 12th

The Miz 04-11-2004 11:04 PM

woooo M's are 1-5 :(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-11-2004 11:53 PM

Sox didnt wear their red jerseys today...Last season they wore them every Sunday

Hopefully they didnt wear them because the Jays wear black away jerseys or something...they better not have shelfed the red jersey thing

VonErich Lives 04-14-2004 06:47 PM

another rain out... There bumping Lowe... so it's going to be Pedro, Wakefield, Schilling, Lowe (or possible Arrojo) then Lowe.

1) There trying to keep Pedro and Schilling close as possible to every 5days.

2) Tito seems to like have Wake (knuckleball) in between Pedro and Schilling, doesn't make much sense to me, and if he wanted that, why not do it from day #1?

3) This way, Pedro misses the Yanks in Fenway, Schilling gets them and then Pedro gets them in NY, and schilling misses them.

I'm going Friday and Saturday.

Friday - Bleachers front row, on the sox bullpen

Saturday - Green Monster, row 3.

Bring'em on!
