Whats all the fuss about the anaconda vice?

Yeah, it was cool when Punk was using it, but everyone's marking out getting all excited about seeing it again at Breaking Point.

What was so amazing about it?

CSL 09-10-2009 02:43 PM

One of those forum things, one person says 'Punk should bust out the Vice', a million people are like YEAHHHHHHH, rinse repeat until it actually happens, cue net orgy

XL 09-10-2009 02:54 PM

I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that noone (other than Cena) has a submission move that actually ends matches. Has a kinda Old School feel to it.

^ This

Also it comes down to the fact that now with him really being Main Event now there's some bigger guys he'll be dealing with. Not everyone can go up for the G2S. It adds another dimension to his move set.

I'm shocked it took this long to bring it back. But happy nonetheless.

#1-norm-fan 09-10-2009 04:17 PM

A fourth reason I think is that it's simply something that is a big part of his days in the indys. Anytime WWE acknowledges or agrees to acknowledge something from someone's pre-WWE days I think people just get excited.

Get me when it is the vertibreaker.

abec 09-10-2009 04:23 PM

He got Snitsky up. Shouldn't have any problem getting anyone up except Khali, Mark Henry and Big Show.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-10-2009 05:38 PM

I would love for him to finish Taker with the triangle choke he does where he throws mad elbows. That move is devestating. lol owuld never happen though.

Barely Legal is the best submission of all time. I wish someone like Knox would bust it out.

Gertner 09-10-2009 06:13 PM

Rep for anybody knows who used that move as a finisher.

Testicle 09-10-2009 06:20 PM

Barry Darsow

Gertner 09-10-2009 06:30 PM

Bingo. That was a kick ass submission that looked painful as fuck.

Afterlife 09-10-2009 06:51 PM

It's part of any gay crush that wrestling fanboys have on any of their darlings that suck ass. Their underperformance is always due to something that's supposedly being "held back," be it forcibly by WWE or any other reason. With Punk it's the AV. Watch, he'll do it a few times, and then it'll lose its shine pretty quick.

Afterlife 09-10-2009 08:05 PM

So it's like a buffalo sleeper?

Remember that japanesse guy I told you Punk was taking the vice from and you asked who the hell is that,

Yea, that guy innovated the buffalo sleeper too.

I'm not gonna "fuss" over the vise, but the GTS is kinda duumb looking. I'm not saying it wouldn't be effective to drop someone off your shoulders and have their face his your knee, it just doesn't impress me. I saw a couple of vids of it looking good, but most versions are lame as shit.

It really does rank up there with the Playmaker and Styles Clash in the list of moves that are theoretically devestating yet have next to no impressive visual effect.

Is this the same as what he did when he beatdown Jeff Hardy? That would be cool to see Undertaker submit to that.

Honestly, it's all up to the recipient to make it look good. KENTA's usually looks good, because his opponents are willing to actually take it pretty stiffly.
