I guess I was the only one watching the show..

One of the best "fight nights" of all time so every but me missed out..

i saw it. really really good show. even though only one fight didn't go to decision i was glad i watched. dunno how huerta didn't tap, his arm was like a slight push from coming off completely.

Yeah, I seriously thought Maynard was gonna rip his arm outta it's socket..

Damnit was that Huertas last fight? :'(

Just finished watching it, pretty solid show. Quarry V Credour was pretty much excellent, Condit had me scared in that first round, but turned it around, and Maynard V Huerta wasn't tooooooo bad...not overly impressive though tbh. Main Event was pretty cool, looked away though and when I turned back Diaz had subbed out Guillard, was pretty much a wtf moment right there.

I agree, every fight could have been a fight of the night candidate on alot of cards.

I forget what fight it was but one of them a contender got kneed in the back of the head and the ref didn't call it WTF!

Condit V Ellenburger or whoever I believe

Yeah, I saw that too.. When Ellenberger had Condit on the ground, near the fence in the first round, he straight up kneed him to the back of the head while Carlos was trying to scramble..

i don't really like the whole no punching to the back of the head rule. like i can see why they have it and why they have to have it, but in reality if you had someones back like that the fight would be over. i hope they get scored down fucking hard when that happens.

I think we've talked about this before, but I remember Couture saying the rule was in place to protect the brain steam/base of skull/spinal chord.. Knee to a downed opponent's head is illegal no matter where on the head it lands..

yeah i understand why it's there, especially after benoit and the whole him taking chairshots to the back of the head.

they allowed knees in pride :'(

lol yeah, Shogun almost punted Liddell into oblivion when he knocked him down a few months ago. He still thinks like he's in Pride.

It's hard for some fighters to break those type of habits.. That's why they allowed nut shots in the first UFC's because it's a big part of certain martial arts..

Yeah, I know. I watched the show too, btw. But my PC and tv are in different rooms.

They allowed nut shots in the first UFCs because the gracies (who formed it) wanted zero rules to find out which martial art is truly the best. Once rules were put in, the gracies left the UFC.

Yeah, remember I just read a book that told me all about that??

tbh i would post in the threads but i am paying a monthly subscription for espn just to watch all the shows so those fuckers get my full attention, even if there are ad breaks every 2 minutes.

thats something else too. ESPN uk has the fucking worse quiet show to LOUD ADVERTS ratio i have ever fucking heard.

well its my dad's tv and i never use it apart from to watch ufc crap but if it's wicked cheap i'm all ears.
