Al Sharpton to host Raw on 9/28

The Reverend Comes To RAW

Left and Right work together to host RAW...and reform schools.

by Matt Fowler

September 18, 2009 - We learned last Monday that Cedric the Entertainer was set to host this upcoming Monday's RAW, but now we know who'll be hosting the show the following week. It's none other than the Reverend Al Sharpton!

We're used to certain odd-fellows showing up on RAW these days, but what could Al Sharpton possibly have to promote? Why, it's "Achievement Gap" Tour - whic will feature Sharpton hitting the road with, of all people, Former House Secretary Newt Gingrich, and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. With stops in Philly, New Orleans, Baltimore and Atlanta, Sharpton and Gingrich will be raising awareness for the "achievement gap" currently facing public schools in the U.S. and highlighting the efforts to reform public education.

Could there even be a remote possibility of seeing Gingrich on RAW? I smell new Tag Team Champions.

So his product is black people?

TheZman 09-18-2009 08:19 PM

Great choice, in three weeks we can have Kayne West.

I can see him taking the mic from Cena and saying "I'm happy for you, Imma let you finish, but Hogan had the most bland championship promos ever."

I wonder if they can get Obama to guest GM on RAW from the white house taped via satellite?

Well he did appear on Raw last year, along with Hilary Clinton and John McCain. So sadly, it could happen.

Kami Raki 09-18-2009 10:03 PM

So that Raw is an automatic skip.

Fignuts 09-18-2009 10:09 PM

Ok this is just stupid.

Fignuts 09-18-2009 10:09 PM

That interest in wrestling I was getting back?

It's gone now.

Droford 09-18-2009 10:18 PM

its a shame Batista went to SD..he could show up collecting money as the Deacon again.

Great, a man who's spent his entire life leeching and spreading hate gets to host Raw.

Funky Fly 09-18-2009 11:01 PM

How in the fuck does Al Sharpton make sense as the host of Raw? Like, he is the last person I would ever think of asking to host.

Martha Stewart.

Funky Fly 09-18-2009 11:07 PM

Nope, she is a better choice.

I was not against the guest host idea for some time( I admit it, I had fun watching Di Biase, Rhodes, Barker and Trish poke their noses into Raw) but Al Sharpton? that just does not seem fitting at all..

DAMN iNATOR 09-18-2009 11:56 PM

OH, TESTIFY!

Fignuts 09-19-2009 11:38 AM

Yeah, Martha Stewart went to prison. She's hardcore.

kareru 09-19-2009 12:11 PM

Mr Socko would be a great raw host

Anybody Thrilla 09-19-2009 12:24 PM

Prepare yourselves for a Mark Henry title win.

Funky Fly 09-19-2009 04:46 PM

So we can have the New New Nation? No thanks.

Anybody Thrilla 09-19-2009 04:51 PM

Clarence Mason

Funky Fly 09-19-2009 04:58 PM

Wonder what he's up to these days.

Honestly, I thought, after Piven, there was an executive decision to get hosts that had some understanding of the business.

Hey look, we agree on something.

I have a feeling that Sharpton will have some bother with Jericho & Big Show.

Since teaming up, they haven't really gotten along with black guys very well.

Cryme Tyme
MVP
Mark Henry
Floyd Mayweather

It doesn't really apply as much to Jericho, but he did have a hand in it, but you missed that Big Show tried to stir up trouble with Shaq when he guest hosted.

Let's see if we can add Cedric the Entertainer to that list.

Yeah, totally forgot about Shaq there.
