Cena's next opponent?
Was just thinking, since Cena-Orton will be done soon (I hope), who will Cena face next for the WWE title?
I ask this because there aren't actually any main event heels on RAW apart from Orton or Big Show, and Big Show is probably going to be busy with the tag belts for the forseeable future. Do we get Cena-HHH again? Do we get Cena-HBK again? I think this is where a Batista heel turn could have come in handy, personally. Who do you think will be next for a title shot? Maybe someone like Swagger could get a test main event run, like how Cena did when he got beat off Lesnar in like 2003/2004? |
Michaels if the rumors for TLC are true.
|
This is the main problem really, there is no one else besides orton/hhh.
Or HBK i guess. |
Throwing HBK into the title picture is only a short term solution, but if HBK gets a title run he could perhaps end up putting over other heels which would help raw.
|
Well, the PPV after Hell in a Cell will be Bragging Rights, won't it? Did the WWE scrap the interactive voting for that? If not, it would actually make sense to do a face vs. face match. Also, while the PPV name may not mean anything, aren't Cena and Michaels currently tied or something in singles matches?
I could see the fans being given a choice between Shawn Michaels and Triple H, with the man who doesn't get the vote facing Randy Orton earlier in the night. Or some shit like that. |
I'd go with DiBiase when they're done with DX, short term test run, maybe start slow-burning a turn if he does well
|
Jack Swagger has been working against Cena at house shows recently, hasn't he? I could see the WWE giving him a short run at the title. Cena would no doubt beat him, though.
|
Swagger isn't ready for a main event title feud.
Not by a long shot. |

MVP has been working in ME on raw, yes they are in tag matches, but maybe they will give it to him. I know it is a Face v Face thing, but if MVP helps Cena, Cena could throw him a title shot.
|
I want them to make a new Chavo out of Cena, and get beat up by a midget week after week.

I think he should defend against the fingerpoke of doom if Orton doesn't win it at HiaC and a new challenger MUST be named. (I'm not buying that they'll actually follow through on the "no more championship rematches for poor Mr. Orton if he loses this time" bullshit. I've seen it too many times, and it's way too transparent. We'd most likely STILL end up with Orton vs. Cena for quite some time until the stupid RAW writers quit jizzing themselves over every possibility to re-hash this dumb "rivalry")
|
Supposedly some writers at WWE compared this feud to The Rock vs Austin and think it's pure gold.
Don't remember where I read it, though. |
The crystal ball is pretty foggy right now.
You could throw HBK and MVP's hats in the ring, but they're tied up right now with their respective tag teams. Unless one of them goes heel REALLY soon, I don't see them going up against Cena. As much I love Orton, he can use a break for awhile. But we don't wanna see him go up against Triple H for the umpteenth time. DiBiase would be great, but I say bring Ted Sr. back as a mentor/manager role to move him. But it wouldn't last long because he'll leave to promote his movie. Only thing I can think of is bring in somebody fresh from the farm. Who's on the top of the food chain in FCW right now? |
And this is why the roster split fucking sucks. Never enough main eventers.

I agree with tl, the roster split is a cool concept and gives more wrestlers jobs but it takes away from the quality of the shows. Its like you feel a moan in the crowds when they announce another orton/hhh, cena/hhh, cena/orton match up. I personally thought they shouldve waited for orton/cena up until wm time
|
Am I to understand that McGuiness and Danielson are skipping developmental? If so, are they good at heeling against main eventers?
|
But honestly, what are the chances of the feud being over?
|
What "feud", though? The whole thing is void of purpose in the first place. Orton has nothing invested in Cena whatsoever and Cena is all riled up and angry...about nothing. These matches are over a title, sure, but there is absolutely nothing more to it than that.
|
Raw is fucked.

Well you keep saying Cena was angry about nothing, which is not true.

I know many will disagree, but I think the best thing that WWE can do with Cena at this point....or at some point in the not-so-distant future, is have him turn heel. A heel Cena could then feud with Batista (interpromotional), MVP, etc. Even feuds with Triple H and Shawn Michaels would be somewhat fresh due to the subsequent character change. If the WWE are dead set against a heel turn because it would hurt Cena's merchandise and/or popularity amongst 12 year olds....well guess what.....AUSTIN and HOGAN were 10x bigger than Cena and BOTH men made shocking heel turns at some point. I'd have Cena turn heel, have him feud with MVP, and then move him on to a guy like Triple H or whatever. At Wrestlemania, a heel Cena feuds with Dave Batista or another former WWE superstar.....like The Rock, Austin, or Hogan. |
They will never turn Cena heel thanks to WM17
|
Cena and Orton are going to feud over the WWE title until the end of time. I think anyway

Cena will feud with himself. I really don't see who he can feud with right now. |
we gonna have a surprised with who john cena gonna feud with.most tell that he gonna feud with batista, undertaker or triple h and shawn michaels.but i doubt that that could happend.

Please be a sock.

Heyman I love you but I usually skip your posts, can't deal with the armchair booking.
|
Cena sucks ship him to ECW
|
I hope he feuds with death and loses.

Slater's entertaining, but his character is sort of like a heel David Cassidy version of John Morrison's face Jim Morrison. Pop idol gone bad and whatever. He can work a match, for sure, but they'd need to give him a new character. Johnny Prime is decent, too, as is Alex Riley, but I don't think either of them are in any position to get thrust into a high-profile run on RAW. |

Also, it won't be Swagger, but remember when he had that really good match with Cena on Raw? |

His sudden rage felt completely out of place. |
