Random wrestling references in the media/whatever...

Was driving home today listening to The Jersey Guys. The subject was Tattoos and how many you have, etc. One woman called in saying she had a gorilla tattoo because her father was a wrestler. Obviously, that set off something with the hosts and she said that her father was Gorilla Monsoon. Thought that was cool. (I believe she was legit because she dropped "Geno".)

So yeah, thought that was pretty cool. Any other places you've seen/heard wrestlers in the media?

Wonder is she has a baby kangaroo one for her brother

Xero 09-28-2009 08:38 PM

She said she has two. The gorilla and a bear on her back.

Weezer has a song called El Scorcho from around 1996 that features the following line: watching Grunge leg-drop New Jack" which is a reference to ECW's star Johnny Grunge leg dropping New Jack, through a table

Young MC's I come off mentions Jimmy Snuka saying he can fly like Superfly Jimmy Snuka

Liar Liar the Jim Carrey movie mentions taking his son to wrestling and mentioned Macho Man Randy Savage and Rick Rude....

-He also pretended to put the claw on the little boy....

Andy Kaufman and Fred Blassie are mentioned in R.E.M.'s Man on the Moon as its about Andy and of course they mention his movie with Blassie...

Didn't Obama recently mention "WWF Wrestling" in an interview?

Five (British boy band) reference Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in one of their songs (don't recall the name of it).

As far as tattoo's go.....

Both of Triple H's kids have a Hasbro and Milton Bradley logo on each arm to show their allegiance to "The Game"

In other news, Nick Hogan just got a photo of the incredible hulk tattooed on the arch of his foot.

Wrestlers by Hot Chip from their album“Made in the Dark” makes reference to a few wrestling moves and terms.

My roommate, who doesn't watch wrestling, told my yesterday that a coworker of his has named her two sons after Shawn Michaels and Triple H. I asked him in what way and he said, "She named one 'Shawn Michaels' and one whatever Triple H stands for".

Was flipping through the channels and landed on TBN, a religious channel. Saw Big Show chopping wood and was literally like ":wtf:". Apparently it's a movie called "Reggie's Prayer" and includes such stars as Paul Wright, MC Hammer and Brett Favre.
