The Roster depth is lacking, who do you hire?

A lot of people are saying the roster is too thin, so who should the WWE hire to thicken it out?

Nark Order 10-05-2009 02:36 AM

Well, I don't thing hiring anybody would solve the problem. It isn't that the roster is thin, the main event scene is thin due to WWE's inability to properly create new starts consistanly. I say they split Jerishow sooner or later so they can pull main event duty on their respective brands. Also, Bring up Christian, Regal, and Morrison to the main event on either SD or RAW and we've got ourselves a great start.

CWK 10-05-2009 02:42 AM

Personally, I would go back to producing more cutting edge television and not the PG bullshit. Why they were trying to fix what wasn't broken i'll never know.

Secondly, its not that their talent roster is "thin" or "weak", far from it, its just that creative and Vince CHOOSE to continuously book people 40 years old and higher like Taker, HBK, Triple H, Batista, etc. to suck up TONS AND TONS AND TONS of tv time when they should spend the time building new stars like Morrison, CM Punk, Ziggler, Swagger, MVP, and even Sheamus, he's a diamond in the rough. WWE is oozing with talent, they just aren't utilizing it in the right way.

Mr. Nerfect 10-05-2009 06:29 AM

Rob Van Dam and Mr. Kennedy would be good main event signings. If I was going to pluck anybody from ROH, it would probably be Chris Hero.

GD 10-05-2009 06:36 AM

BROCK LESNAR!

Dave Youell 10-05-2009 07:39 AM

Vince Russo.

Seriously.

The booking of TNA TV has been sensational recently, everyone has a purpose, or something to do on each show, he manages to take more guys and give them all something to do in a 2 hour slot each week. Whilst Raw takes 5 guys and gives them 75% of the time and everyone else gets lost in the mix.

It's more about giving people match time as well IMO

Skippord 10-05-2009 07:55 AM

I don't disagree with Dave

Sigged

Skippord 10-05-2009 08:35 AM

I enjoy being in people's signatures far more than I should, a positive reputation for you Mr. Mercy

Nicky Fives 10-05-2009 08:37 AM

RVD would be a great signing, but they would have to give him an "Undertaker" deal I imagine, where he would only work TV & PPV.... he could be used to help put over the young guys like Sheamus, Evan, Swagger, Morrison, Ziggler, Punk, etc...... he's a big enough name to draw attention for his return, and he is more than adequate in the ring to successfully put over the aforementioned younger talent.

This.

Although I'm not quite sure I agree with him either.

Mr. Nerfect 10-05-2009 09:44 AM

Paul Heyman as both a commentator and a writer would be good. Heyman was one of those guys that would use anybody to their full potential. Rhyno, Big Show and the SmackDown! Six come to mind.

Heyman, Michael Hayes and whoever is doing ECW would make great head writers for the WWE.

As for talent they could call up from FCW? I'd call up Caylen Croft, Joe Hennig, Justin Angel, Kaval, Trent Beratta and Vance Archer.

Ermaximus 10-05-2009 10:04 AM

Shark Boy and Curry Man.

Mr. Nerfect 10-05-2009 10:24 AM

I'd bring Val Venis back to SmackDown! -- I don't care what anyone says. While I'm being Noid, I'd bring back Rob Conway & Nick Dinsmore as a tag team, and re-hire Doug Basham. Fuck you all.

Chris Hero is perfect for the WWE too, by the way. He's not overly used in ROH, either. I think he'd be willing to go. I can so see him fitting in on SmackDown!, working with guys like Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk.

Mr. Nerfect 10-05-2009 10:28 AM

Bring Val back, and let him go over Charlie Haas in like a ten minute match. Then put him in a feud with Dolph Ziggler, after Val tries to recruit Maria for a movie. The matches between the two would be quite great.

BigDaddyCool 10-05-2009 10:29 AM

BigDaddyCool 10-05-2009 10:31 AM

I'm glad to know Noid hasn't changed a bit in his over valuing of Val Venis.

Mr. Nerfect 10-05-2009 10:34 AM

Not at all. The man would make a damn good mid-card talent.

Ermaximus 10-05-2009 10:35 AM

I changed my mind. I'd brink back Al Snow, Steve Blackman, A-Train, Kevin Thorn, Shelly Martinez, Trish Stratus, and Stacey Kiebler.

i agree sheamus is really showing me something new and sooner or later he will be world champion. another one is shelton b. cuz he is a really athletic superstar and wwe has never let him reach his full potential. also, maybe a bit of a stretch, but kofi kingston has a bit of a lenghty run of the u.s. title so maybe the creative team can try him out in the main event picture

Innovator 10-05-2009 11:03 AM

Davey, and bring back Colt and give him an actual chance.

Other than that, it's their own damn fault the fans don't care about half the guys. They keep building up guys to have them lose decisively to main eventers. Dibiase, Cody, and Punk are examples of them trying to build up new guys, but it's not enough.

:y:

They have got to the point where they need to bite the bullet and take a step back and take a hit in ratings and revenue to build guys up. They created there best stars when they were losing money and getting killed in the ratings. (before WCW even beat them)

1996 saw the emergence of Austin, HHH, Foley and The Rock. Now they didn’t win any titles for 2 years after that, but they were all booked so well, without them getting over-pushed that they all got extremely over. They have people of the same talent and potential, but they just don’t know how to push people, the only booker with a wrestling background currently is Hayes (who’s been incredible I might add on Smackdown) on Raw, all the Hollywood writers have nothing, Steph ‘grew up’ in the business, but only the WWE machine, she doesn’t have outside experience of how others things can and have worked in the past. HHH is a cancer on the whole thing still IMO

They don’t need to hire anyone to fix this, they need proper management, I can honestly say I haven’t watched a single WWE TV product for over a month now, I just don’t care about it, TNA on the other hand, for me, end to end, is the best thing going, as far as what is produced on their TV show, because it feels like a wrestling show should.

Jordan 10-05-2009 04:55 PM

To be honest with I think WWE made a good choice in getting rid of Kennedy. He really failed to live up to the potential they had set out for him, and he is an idiot from what interview and reports I have seen and read. A big star lost no doubt but not a huge blow, nothing missed.

Umaga I don't understand, a great talent and character... just started to become stale "What do we do with him?" I don't know but that is your job WWE bookers, stop firing people because you suck at you job, go back to Dawson.

Obviously the quck fix approach of hire EX WWE or TNA workers isn't the best idea. Guys who get over in TNA don't usually carry the same momentum to WWE. So the best choice is to raid the indy scene. Obviously ROH has taken a big hit already due to WWE's rape of their roster, and I am sure more is to come.

Chris Hero, Davey Richards as mentioned are some of the top guys WWE could use. Tyler Black is pretty green still and not really great for WWE's style and hopefull he stays in ROH to become a top face.

WWE could however use ROH's Jimmy Jacobs and Austin Aries very well even though they are on the smaller side.

Other than that I think WWE should just keep nuturing their FCW talent even though I personally am not impressed with their obvious future WWE stars like Henning.

Wrestling for one!

Fabien Barthez 10-05-2009 05:12 PM

I wouldn't hire Noid as talent scout, that's for sure.

Better booking is needed for the lesser talents. I don't think anybody out there right now could boost the roster.

HBPunk 10-05-2009 06:35 PM

Id hire Naked Mideon

Fox 10-05-2009 07:11 PM

The roster is quite deep; the booking just sucks, as has already been said.

I would hire Eric Bischoff and have him do an angle with Vince where he has purchased half of the WWE through stock trades or something like that, and is back to shake things up. The first thing he does is bring back Paul Heyman.

Eventually Vince runs RAW, Bischoff runs Smackdown and Heyman runs ECW.

Kinda like a mini-monday night wars era all over again??

I like it.

The Ravishing One 10-06-2009 08:29 PM

Which reminds me, why the fudge isnt Heyman signed anywhere?? His name alone would make people watch whatever promotion he's booking.

He's doing his "Heyman Hustle" online thingy. Which is quite interesting.

WWE doesn't need to hire anyone. They need a change in their booking mentality.

The Ravishing One 10-06-2009 09:11 PM

Interesting = polite way of saying shit??

DAMN iNATOR 10-06-2009 10:02 PM

I'm with Noid - bring back R.V.D. and Kennedy to help freshen up the RAW main event scene.:y::y:

Who does WWE need to hire?
