I never actually sat down and watch an entire Elm Street movie (Freddy vs. Jason doesnt count), but it seems that Englund is already better than Haley at portraying Freddy.

I didn't watch it cause I assume no Robert England,

they still owe us a violent prequale movie, it doesn't matter that He's older now cause we can assume freddy looked like that when he was burned alive.

as they add rinkles to the makeup anyway, he gets burnt alive so we can assume he was old when it happned.

I usualy don't care about remakes, I'd usualy say it can't ruin the first one, just see it as its own movie and don't compare, don't expect it to be better, but now I feel like they're taking away any possible sequales and a much talked about prequale.

This movie actually looks kinda good. Definitely gonna see it.

Don't know what I was thinking when I said that up there. Dude is mad creepy in this, and I honestly prefer him over England. Boo me.

As for the movie itself, it's pretty formulaic. Acting pretty bad besides freddy, and the movie also has that shitty cliche I hate so much. The make up, as stated everywhere, doesn't look that great. I think it would have worked wonderfully if they would have kept his face in shadow for the whole flick. Not totally blacked out, but just somewhat visible. But there are a few scenes where it is in plain view, and it looks more silly, than scary.

Yeah, I know it's closer to what burn victims look like, shut up. Burn victims look silly. Should have made him a meat grinder accident victim.

Thats my big gripe too. In the original they used a sheet of spandex. It looked sick. The CGI in the new one killed it for me, it looked terrible and cartoony.

I will say this though, I did enjoy the film. It was kinda sloppy and rushed but I like it. and I love the original too so. The new Freddy was so fucking creepy too, I enjoyed him. Though I am back and forth about the look of his face.

i hated how they even tried to instill a sense of doubt into the viewer that freddy was unjustly killed and was really a misunderstood guy. it was a decent remake but just like the F13 remake, it doesnt match up against the original.

Yeah lol, its kind of hard to sympathise with a paedophile/murderer.

I kinda liked them questioning it. He could have been killing for the of sake the kids lying and causing an innocent man to die. Yeah, a huge change I probably would have hated in the long run, but its not like the new one didnt take liberties across the board anyhow.

He didnt even live at 1428 Elm.... come on now...

Apart from the already mentioned weak CGI, it was a good film tho. I never really liked the originals as horror films tbh, so I didnt have a 'omg how dare they ruin this film legacy' mindset.

So are we still getting a sequel to this? Cause I recently watched this again and I want a sequel.

Or was there too much backlash from the change in actor and tone from the originals.

Gonna be pissed if stupid "wah wah it raped my childhood" drama queens got this thing cancelled.

Already been 7 movies of cheezy jokes robert england movies. I'd rather they continue with the creepier more serious haley version.
