Rumor: Kimbo Slice Vs. Houston Alexander Could Happen At UFC 107
Fiveouncesofpain.com appears to have the scoop on this potential slugfest:
A slugfest between Kimbo Slicehttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adT...lass_10x10.gif and Houston Alexander is looking like a strong possibility for UFC 107. A source close to the situation advised FiveOuncesofPain.com today that although no bout agreements have been sent, at least one of the fighters has been formally approached about the possibility of the bout. UFChttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adT...lass_10x10.gif 107 is scheduled for December 12 from Memphis, Tennessee, and will feature a headlining lightweight championship bout between B.J. Penn and Diego Sanchez. Kimbo would be coming off of the heels of his appearance on “The Ultimate Fighterhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adT...lass_10x10.gif: Heavyweights“, and his recent TUF 10 loss at the hands (and moon-sized belly) of Roy “Big Country” Nelson. Prior to his stint at the TUF house Kimbo suffered a lightning quick TKO defeat to Seth Petruzelli after racking up wins over guys like Tank Abbott and James “Colossus” Thompson. Alexander recently bounced back into the winners circle with a first round TKO over Sherman Pendergarst during Adrenaline IV in September, following three consecutive defeats with the UFC ---------------------------------- I would love to see this happen - this will be a slugfest. Problem is im a massive fan of Houston and kinda wanna see Kimbo do well in the UFC. So i propose a draw :| |
well that kills any rumors of kimbo backing his way into the finale
LOL yeah i kinda thought that.
i think the ufc have to take on kimbo now, there's no way around it. even if he isn't that much of a fighter he's way too popular.
I wish spike would stop saying he is fighting every week
Wait a minute, is Kimbo dropping to 205? or is Houston moving up to Heavyweight?
Kimbo Slice sounds like a piece of sausage by the way.
I could go for some Kimbo Slice, mash and gravy rn
Now i know most of the fighters from the show usually get a deal in the UFC but is this the earliest after a loss that one has already been given a contract....makes losing on TUF worth it for him almost...except he will probably get paid a little less.
no its the earliest that you heard about the deal... they all either get or dont get deals right after taping. Thats why you see cast members fighting on the finale show. Technically they have deals before the guys in the finals. Their deal just wont be as sweet at the winner. Except kimbo is going to get a lesnar like contract because hes going to be a cash cow.
As I said numerous times Dana white put Kimbo on TUF so he could renig all the shit he said about him not being an MMA fighter and that BJ Penn would make him tap in under 2 minutes, etc.. I ubderstand why he said it cause Kimbo was pretty much carrying EliteXC and really was a back ally fighter, which is the image White and the Fertittas have spent the better part of the last decade to remove as the draw of MMA.. When SEG owned it, they promoted "NO HOLDS BARRED" type of promotion but Dana made it into a legit sport.. Kimbo being shown on national tv as the poster boy for MMA, on a channel that can def have better rating than Spike pissed Dana off.. Since EliteXC folded, White took the oppertunity to give Kimbo a "chance" to get in the UFC all the while knowing he'd be on UFC cards reguardless how he does on the show..
drink much?
I like how they make fun of Nelson, yet he dominated Kimbo.
NO WAY! He literally sat on his face!
And not in a kinky hot girl way, in a fat bastard way. |
a beached whale kinda way
Sorry, i should've given a spoiler alert, with the picture, if you haven't seen the fight.

kimbo isnt that big and if heas only 220ish he can make 205 with no problem
5 pounds in his beard

Expect Kimbo has openly stated that he is too big to make 205 and is fighting Houston at 215. But how can this be? you know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING to do with MMA as absolute fact.... WHATS GOING ON!?! |
if he wanted to lose bulk and lean himself up a bit he would be able to make 205... he doesnt want to do that so yes hes too big
Not in a 10 week camp, at his size.
OK
It's amazing how quickly you can transform your body.
Yeah, I lost 8 pounds in a few weeks just by changing my gym routine, and that's only a few hours per week.
If you're a heavyweight you don't have a strict diet, so in theory, it shouldn't be too hard for him to cut down |
tbf kimbo looks pretty lean already and you, er...

Nobody. But this is a general scenario in this forum.
poster: i think *blah* Reav: No, the TRUE FACT is *blah* And you chat the same shit and speculate the same ammount as everybody else. If you had said in the other thread 'I don't think GSP will succeed in wrestling' as apposed to 'I can tell you for a fact GSP doesnt train this, and wont win that'.... I would have no arguement. God himself knows less about MMA than you make out you do. I am not claiming to know more than you, just that you can't substantiate alot of the things you TELL us instead of discuss WITH us. |
And the devil himself is nowhere near as negative as you Fabien. I've never seen someone so adamant on being a cunt.
I am being a cunt in casual as well. This is the MMA forum.
Actually Everything Ive been so sure about has been from everything I know about actual wrestling... you know since Ive been a wrestler nearly my whole life. Like Kimbo being able to drop weight.... (cutting and knowing how and who can drop where is BIG in wrestling in case you didnt know)
OR the fact that the people who qualify for the olympics or are even competitive with the people that do, only wrestle... they dont do striking, jits whatever... they wrestle 5-6 days a week, on top of conditioning. They eat, sleep and breathe wrestling. So no I am positive that GSP would get killed.
But heres the thing, you are from the UK where they do not wrestle... You guys rarely if ever even put a guy in the olympics for the sport. So it doesnt suprise me that you know nothing about it or anything that goes along with it... what is funny is that rather than just reading and trying to learn something you sit there and get all pissy because someone knows something you dont. |
But I only re-started this thread in response to the cold hard truths you were slamming about in the GSP olympic thread. I am attacking in a much broader sence than this.
Still haven't read that long reply in that thread yet. I will though. I just want you to start a few sentences with 'I think....' or something like that. And infear of fueling this fire even more, Kimbo Slice is not a wrestler, in case you didn't know. ;) |

You are more knowledgable than me, and they are more knowledgable than you. Still doesn't mean you can use fact in speculation. I never do. |
Well that would be assuming that the canadian nationals are saying he has a solid chance... now Ive read the article about GSP going into the olympics aaaaand where did they say that???
All I saw was an interview with the last olympian for canada at his weight, and he was as politically correct as possible in saying he wouldnt make it. The only positive he gave GSP was that he is a competitor and he he will be "tough"... tough is much different than good |
At the end of the day though GSP is a freak athlete. Give him a year straight just to train wrestling and see what happens... just sayin?
I mean think about it, BJ Penn won the bjj championship or whatever after just three years of training and his work ethic is well documented. Mind you wrestling and bjj are 2 different beasts, but he was still beating guys who'd done it much longer and more dedicated. Freak athletes are freak athletes, some guys are just phenomenal at whatever they do. Not to say I disagree.... just more... you never know. |
The only "speculation" I see is from you saying there are people telling GSP that he has a shot to do it. While theres all kinds of other things probably going on like GSP listening to people call him the bast wrestler in MMA... a sport that has olympians and national champions in it. OR it could be like Silva saying he wanted to do Pro boxing (whether he could or not it wasnt going to happen), OR he could be doing it to keep his name relavant at the moment by having people talk about him doing it, OR he could actually try just to bring hype to a sport that noone really watches for the fun of it..... ALL THAT is speculation. Me saying how GSP would do trying to qualify for the OLYMPICS (the pinnicle of the sport btw) is both common sense and a certainty
I saw an interview with GSP after he trained with the can nats last time, on thefightnetwork when it was still on over here. He said he learned alot in a short space of time, and went from consistantly losing when he arrived, to as competative as those in his weight class. He said the coaches invited him to return, and he is a different fighter as a result.
Couture put over his wrestling as 'truely olympic class' on a PPV once, but unfortunately for me, none of this stuff has been printed in the last 7 days, so my evidence is a bit hard to locate. You might well be dead right with everything you say, but you are not DEFFINATELY right, because it's all in the speculation stage. Which is my point to all of this, not my disagreement, just the suggestion that fact is based on what you can prove, and not even GSP has proved anything yet, so how the fuck can you? |

If this was sprinting, or any other sport where he is against the clock, or the unconflicting result of his opposition, then this would be hard to argue. But wrestling involves reacting to the unpredictable reactions of your opponent in a physical confrontation. Take Saitiev for instance in Sydney... He lost to someone who was lucky to make the US team in the first place. It was one of his only major events, the only one he ever took a medal in, and he was barely seen again. I know this guy won gold due to the drugs test, but his result at the olympics, the pinnacle of the sport, was impossible to predict and massively unlikely. Saitiev was DEFFINATELY going to win in Sydney, and he came 8th or 9th or something. He was put on his back by a nobody. So fuck your certainties. |
