It really does suck that he's leaving and as stated, he could sell a match better than most of the other guys. So with that being said, I say we use this thread to discuss and share our favorite Shane moments. Be it a promo, or a match, use this thread to wave "good-bye to the money" as Afterlife put it.

Fucking shit computers at work block all video!! Who was it he did that diving elbow drop off the titan tron on anyways? Was it Blackman? I can't remember that match that well, but I do remember that the Mean Street Posse and T&A both got involved and helped Shane.

Ah. I could've sworn he was fighting Blackman though. Maybe that was another match cuz I remember Blackman nailing him in the head with his kali sticks and Shane falling backwards off the titantron and landing thru a table.

I always thought Shane was a dick for doing all that crazy shit. I mean yeah there's no doubt it took balls, but come on, he wrestles every year and a half so he has ample time to recover. All he did was take the spotlight from real performers that deserved it. It was pretty fucked up.

In saying that though, he was still pretty entertaining from time to time.

Yeah, because the guys he was working with were just window dressing.

lol come on. Whenever a Shane O'Mac match was over, you weren't thinking about how good he made the other guy look, you were like "OMG SHANE DID SOMETHING MAD FUCKING CRAZY SICK!" It should have been about the wrestlers, not about Shane.

Now if he decided to wrestle ALL the time and he did those bumps I'd be singing a different tune. But he didn't, so I'm not.

Shane was just trying to earn the respect of the other guys by taking a lot of punishment.

As far as "stealing the spotlight", that was the point. If he had just done a bunch of weak looking matches that didn't contribute to the over-all quality of the events than why even wrestle?

People actually were willing to watch Shane, a non-wrestler, wrestle because he made a habit of doing insane stunts.

I'm not arguing with that fact at all. But still, it is stealing the spotlight.

Think about the guys who bust their asses all fucking year, have to ingest steroids to keep with the Vince McMahon ideal image of a wrestler, have to wrestle 300 days a year, bust their asses in the weight room.

Then we have the "boy wonder" Shane O'Mac come in, who has the potato chip body, was not at all a good wrestler, and would just come in and do crazy shit for one night, then leave. It was a little bit ridiculous. If Shane was allowed to do that how the fuck come Spike Dudley wasn't allowed to do that?

Now in saying that, I think the guy was a great performer. He was fun to watch, and he was great on the mic and I thought it was fun watching him do that crazy shit. At the end of the day though, it wasn't the best thing long term for the product and was unfair to the other guys.

To be honest, I could do what Shane did. I could wrestle a match, get my ass fucking kicked, do a huge spot, then not wrestle again for another year. As I said, if he was an actual worker and was working every night then I wouldn't have this issue.

And also, when he did the van terminator it was like "wtf". This guy isn't a fucking wrestler he shouldn't be stealing guys' finishers. I think he has a fucking nerve for doing shit like that. The least he can do, is figure out his own crazy shit to do, to hotshot.

Whose throat did Shane destroy while training? Stevie's?

Shane helped make Angle look like a freak of nature that night, if you recall that was one of several matches Angle worked and it was seriously put over on his part. It made him look like a freak who would take on anything. His bump against Blackman made Blackman look dangerous and unpredictable. His bumps against Kane and the Big Show made it look like those two opponents were so unstoppable that it would take an act of total insanity to beat them. They were Shane's moments, no doubt, but they affected the guys he worked with as well. You can talk about Shane taking time away from others, I'd say that it was equally made up for by his doing the crazy shit that you wouldn't ask some other guy to do.

The Angle match I'll give you. But I will point out he also made Angle look like shit later on that year, because Angle was a face and Shane was a heel, and Angle was on the defensive the whole match.

The fact that Shane was able to compete with Show and Kane was ridiculous. He did not make them look good. Steve Blackman was not put over all that much in that match... again, it was about Shane.

And believe me, if guys were allowed to take those bumps to make them look like the sickest hardcorest motherfuckers, they definitely would. Props to him for taking those bumps but he shouldn't have. It should be actual WRESTLERS doing that.
