Since J.R won't be at Bragging Rights

Who will take over the Smackdown! part of the show? Can we expect the return of Joey Styles or the debut of Jack Korpela?

screech 10-22-2009 03:13 PM

They will go with the three-man squad of Cole, King and Grisham and millions will watch the event on mute.

Or we could all mass e-mail WWE and tell them we'd much rather have the duo of Striker/Matthews call the entire PPV rather than listen to those 3?

No not millions, about 170,000.

Testicle 10-22-2009 03:22 PM

But you're right about the team.

Cool King 10-22-2009 03:25 PM

It'll most likely be Striker seeing as he's the Colour Commentator for ECW and SmackDown will be missing there Colour Commentator.

Also, Striker and Grisham worked together before when Grisham was on ECW, so we all know they'll work well together.

If Striker doesn't take J.R's place, then the WWE Team are idiots.

FourFifty 10-22-2009 03:36 PM

They need JBL.

The Jayman 10-22-2009 03:44 PM

John Bradshaw Layfield

screech 10-22-2009 04:05 PM

Fuck it. I'll do it.

If you do it, I'll be your play-by-play guy Screech.

screech 10-22-2009 04:12 PM

Just know that I'm going to make fun of you all night and rip you a new one when you make a mistake.

screech 10-22-2009 04:13 PM

And I'll be promoting my book, Behind the Bell, the entire time.

mike adamle 10-22-2009 04:14 PM

Am I still under contract?

Ermaximus 10-22-2009 04:17 PM

That's fine Screech. I'll promote Starcraft: Ghost..... oh wait.

Wolfpack423 10-22-2009 04:25 PM

I would like King and Matt Striker for Smackdown. King is already doing RAW, and besides JR and Striker he is the only other commentator I really like, though Josh Matthews isn't bad.

You could be brought back for a one-night appearance, Mr. General Manager.

An Adamle/Heyman/Bischoff announce team?? Nahhh it'd never happen.

screech 10-22-2009 04:35 PM

Not with that attitude, Ermaximus

I know. :( It'd be fun though. Three former GM's of Raw/Smackdown calling a PPV together.

Juan 10-22-2009 04:39 PM

does this really need it's own thread? who the hell cares who does the announcing??

Sixx 10-22-2009 04:41 PM

I'd love some moron doing the commentary. Like Mike Tyson.

I do. The commentary is a big part of the show for me.

Juan 10-22-2009 04:57 PM

clearly you're a masochist.

Droford 10-22-2009 04:59 PM

The first person to come to mind to call a match at a PPV called Bragging Rights.

Clearly you misunderstood me, as I didn't say I liked all of the guys they have. I just said it makes a difference to me who is at the table during matches.

screech 10-22-2009 05:05 PM

Guru Dave, Ermaximus and I should be added to the poll for consideration.

I assume he was referring to me. (a little chat we had in another thread)

parkmania 10-22-2009 08:36 PM

Won't matter much to me since I won't get to hear the commentary as I'll be there in person, but I voted with my heart for Joey Styles.

Theo Dious 10-22-2009 08:37 PM

Indifferent Clox 10-22-2009 09:09 PM

Translator for Lyger and subtitles for Dusty and Ahmed.

I have a feeling it will be a three-man team. If it were up to me, Matt Striker would get the nod, however. He'd bring a certain level of detached emotion to things, as he has no personal stake in SmackDown! winning; he's just doing his job and representing them during commentary. He works well with Grisham, and he technically made his first WWE appearance on SmackDown!.

If they do go for someone outside the company -- JBL would be a very good choice. He actually used to promote SmackDown! as the A-show (because he was on it), and he was brilliant in the booth. I would not complain if he did commentary until JR was mended. The same could be said for Paul Heyman -- former SD! General Manager.

One guy that no one has brought up, is Michael Hayes himself. I was never a big fan of his on commentary, but I never really watched Metal religiously, or anything. Hayes would know what he wants to achieve with the SmackDown! brand better than anybody, so he could be a sleeper pick. He'd also seem like a "temp," which makes it easier to replace him when JR is ready to return. I'd much rather see Hayes start on SmackDown!, though, and not on PPV.

I just hope they don't get Vickie Guerrero to do it, or anything.

They didn't bring Korpela in to announce. He does the run in show/build up to the PPV and spots for foreign markets etc
