Things you want turned into a live action movie or tv show

Manga, anime, books, short stories, video games, etc

I would like a Vampire Hunter D movie. I love the anime and the books seem very interesting.

A Half-Life Movie franchise would be amazing.

mitchables 10-23-2009 02:14 AM

Agree with Half-Life somewhat, although a movie of an already massively cinematic game may just cheapen the original experience.

Also, what if I pick like a book or a video game that wouldn't work as live action but would as an animated series or feature? Fuck it, I'm including those.

For my part:

Not specifically this Episode, but just Commander Keen in general.

Monkey Island could work either as a finite movie series that tries to translate the games (which wouldn't be so great IMO) or as an ongoing TV show. Animated preferable to live-action because of voice-casting continuities and inevitable comparisons to PotC.

Wouldn't mind seeing on-screen translations of Y: The Last Man (in the pipeline still?), Transmetropolitan, Preacher, and 100 Bullets. The last one would probably work really well as a TV show due to the way its constructed. In fact, all of those would probably work better as mini-series rather than stand-alone movies or trilogies or whatever.

I want to see 100 bullets as a tv show, Sandman as a 12 season HBO/ showtime show.

Ariel from the little mermaid. But for crazy reasons involving my penis

Fignuts 10-23-2009 02:47 AM

100 bullets is being made last I heard. Can't remember if it was gonna be a movie or tv show tho.

El Vaquero de Infierno 10-23-2009 08:36 AM

Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar Saga

That shit would be epic, and far better than Lord of the Rings.

The Mask 10-23-2009 10:25 AM

grim fandango was so awesome :'(

Where, in a mermaid would you stick your penis?

And if your answer is mouth than you better go with a regular fish, considering what they do with their... umm, lips?

muffalufagus 10-23-2009 05:41 PM

Hugh Laurie

It's supposedly in the works, but I really want to see live-action Voltron.

RoXer 10-23-2009 08:03 PM

Half life wouldnt work.

Metal Gear wouldn't work.

Even Halo wouldn't work.

Jura 10-23-2009 08:26 PM

FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Jura 10-23-2009 08:26 PM

I'm jk. Can you explain why?

Jura 10-23-2009 08:58 PM

Well FUCK YOUUUUUUU

Fignuts 10-24-2009 01:25 AM

Anime doesn't work in live action. Ever.

The Boys, is the best option.

Swiss Ultimate 10-24-2009 05:12 PM

I wonder if the Akira remake will be any good.

Swiss Ultimate 10-24-2009 05:41 PM

I'd like to see TMNT the original animated series turned into a live-action film. I want Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady.

Have to agree with these. The Boys would be great if they could get away with the inevitable NC-17 rating. Waaay too much drugs and buggery not to get anything below an R rating.

Monkey Island as an ongoing animated series, good lord yes.

Y: The last Man, 100 Bullets and Preacher as finite tv shows would be excellent. Transmetropolitan has to be a couple of films I think (then again I'm only up to issue 47).

In the two Bill and Ted movies, it was 80% of his lines.
