GUESS WHO IS RETURNING TO WWE

World Wrestling Entertainment has re-signed Lance Cade. The three-time World Tag Team Champion reported to Florida Championship Wrestling this past week.

Cade, previously wrestled for the company from 2001 to 2008, most notably in a tag team with Trevor Murdoch.

When Cade was last seen in WWE, he had become a protegé of sorts to Chris Jericho and was aiding him in his feud with Shawn Michaels. However, the alliance would prove to be short-lived as he was suddenly released from his WWE contract on October 14, 2008. Jim Ross later stated that "he made a major league mistake while utilizing bad judgment" which was instrumental in his departure. Ross also made reference to Cade having a seizure on a plane and needing emergency medical care.

Since his departure from WWE, Cade had been working for various independent wrestling promotions and making appearances in Japan.

Suprised it took them this long tbh

Mr. Nerfect 10-23-2009 02:40 AM

If Cade is clean, then I would definitely love to see him back. The dude is pretty young, has got good size to him, and can work a match.

Juan 10-23-2009 02:41 AM

Was it ever revealed what the "major league mistake" was?

CSL 10-23-2009 02:43 AM

Apparently his seizure was drug related

Juan 10-23-2009 02:59 AM

ahh. makes sense

The Mackem 10-23-2009 03:23 AM

I bet it's Lance Cade.

Droford 10-23-2009 05:27 AM

I wonder if they'll ever do the HBCade thing?

Indifferent Clox 10-23-2009 05:30 AM

I really never cared about him. I want to. Just never paid attention to him.

The Jayman 10-23-2009 08:18 AM

He also has a new look so it will be interesting to see him repackaged

Gertner 10-23-2009 08:20 AM

Very happy about this. I love Cade. His spinebuster finisher is pretty cool, and Cade/Murodch were my fav tag team for about two years. Their matches with the Hardyz were fantastic.

Same here.... never really cared for him..... generic musclehead #287846 IMO....I could see him on ECW, maybe taking Tyler Reks' spot..... as he sucks balls

FourFifty 10-23-2009 11:08 AM

I'd rather see them resign Braden Walker.

Triple Naitch 10-23-2009 11:25 AM

I'd love to see him start in ECW and work his way as the top heel on the show.

Cade and Murdoch really should have gotten a push when they were doing their "play by the rules" gimmick. They didn't seem to have their look down completely right. Cade came to the ring in that really short bathrobe and Murdoch had his flannel shirt. I'm not saying that couldn't have worked. It was just strange to do it that way with no real explanation. They looked like a lesbian couple.

Vastardikai 10-23-2009 03:32 PM

Trevor is better.

The Jayman 10-23-2009 03:43 PM

Jethro Holiday!!

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-23-2009 04:00 PM

Will he once again be teamed up with his savior Chris Jericho like nothing happened? Or will they get Trevor back too? I want the tag team of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch back!

Vastardikai 10-23-2009 04:21 PM

Seriously.

Lance Cade has gotten yet another chance because he's HBK's boy. Wow...

I don't watch TNA, so I don't know how good/bad the Jethro Holiday character is. I saw one match and he looked vicious.

Always disagreed with this. Trevor Murdoch is pretty good, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he's got the same sort of potential that Lance Cade has. I would not be opposed to seeing the WWE re-hire Murdoch, though. The dude could be a good mid-carder in his own right.

It would make perfect sense to continue the Jericho/Cade relationship, as there was no real reason for it to end. Cade as back-up for JeriShow would allow Cade to work with two big stars.

Oh come on, plenty of guys have gotten repeated chances without any link to Michaels.

Triple Naitch 10-24-2009 09:22 AM

Yeah, didn't Cryme Tyme "beat up" a ref at a house show once and got fired?

Afterlife 10-24-2009 12:51 PM

I will be interested to see the Cade/Jericho dynamic.

thedamndest 10-24-2009 02:41 PM

I think a Cade/Big Show alliance would be better than resuming Cade/Jericho. It feeds into a possible Jerishow split whenever they want to do that, and you have the history with Cade there (though I do speculate how much of the crowd will remember him as he wasn't hugely over). Additionally, keeping Big Show in the tag scene keeps him away from the singles scene. This is a good game plan for now. If they don't push Show towards the title, he's just floundering. As for Cade, being Show's partner would certainly help get his name out there.

DAMN iNATOR 10-24-2009 04:33 PM

I still can't get over his original ring name, Garrison Cade. Seriously, WTF were they even thinking when they came up with that shit?

Swiss Ultimate 10-24-2009 05:11 PM

Juan I thought it'd be Kurt Angle or Booker T.

I'll be honest, DttS...I was personally hoping it was Rob Van Dam.:(

That'd be great. Either way I didn't expect a mid-carder.

Down the line that could be cool, but with JeriShow still together, it makes sense to stick Cade with them.

thedamndest 10-25-2009 01:25 PM

I guess it depends when they get Cade back on TV. Jerishow + Cade would be even better.

That's really not such a ridiculous name. Besides, I think Lance Storm was still around at the time, so they didn't want too many Lances.

CSL 10-25-2009 01:48 PM

lol "I still can't get over his original ring name". Come the fuck on.

He's barely on TV

screech 10-25-2009 01:55 PM

I'm not a huge fan of Cade, but I don't groan when I see his matches either. I'd be interested if he got paired up with Jerishow upon his return. The next issue would be when that program ends (if it happens), seeing if he can really stand on his own.

Afterlife 10-25-2009 02:52 PM

For the record, I wasn't saying they needed to put Cade with Jerishow as a henchman. I just wonder what the character dynamic will be.

Evil Vito 10-25-2009 04:34 PM

<font color=goldenrod>I'd prefer Cade get a fresh start rather than be Jerishow's henchman, but I dunno. I liked him so I'm glad he's getting another shot.</font>

Robodiv 10-25-2009 05:09 PM

I wonder if WWE might throw him on the card somewhere tonight.

In fact, his first match on TV was against Storm.

Afterlife 10-25-2009 07:34 PM

He's got a match right before the main event, against Drew McIntyre.
