Demon's Souls

Looks inter-ass-ting. I thought it was junk at first but I think I might give it a go if I get a PS3.

I heard it was insanely hard.

Yeah I wanna play this.

Will probably play it when it goes down in price, which shouldn't be too long. It has sold surprisingly well though.

I don't really like games where dying is basically part of the continued experience. I don't mind hard games, but there's hard and there's stupid. This looks like the latter. I may be wrong, and I kind of hope I am, but people have been affirming this, from fans to reviewers. Great.

Think I'll pass, maybe get it on the cheap in 6 months, once everyone's done screaming GOTY.

Dying does become a major thing in this game. However, if you have patience and think things through, you won't die too much, well, unless you try to do some of the little side things.

For instance I died like 20 times on the first level because there is an enemy gaurding this nice looking treasure and apparently you can't beat him until you are like level 25-30. So why he was on the first level is beyond me.

But yea, my only gripe is that the controls 'seem' sluggish, but I gather it is intentional. When you are wearing armor and carrying a pike, you shouldnt be too terribly quick and agile, so really, it feels more realistic than most games do.

Just be warned, this game can take awhile.

Really? Most games overestimate the impact of armor and heavy weapons. Is this another GTAIV thing, where people who love the game pretend "sluggish" is "realistic," or did you get your information from D&D?

Character death on this scale is still dumb. The idea of patience is fine, but at this point, you've taken the primary reason for death in games and chucked it out the window. Yay...:|

There's a thing called New Game plus so I imagine you can maybe go back and fight that guy. I'm not sure though.

You can go back to any stage at any time, you just wait until later and go there again and handle his ass.

Actually I gathered my information from the common sense that wearing solid metal armor and carrying a 10 foot long metal pole probably slows a person down considerably.

Good answer, tbh.
