Hall of Fame '10

So has anyone else here heard Ted DiBiase, the Road Warriors, Demolition, Ron Simmons and Slick are being mentioned as possible inductees in the WWE HOF this year?

Other names that are being discussed but are a little less likely are Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger and The Honky Tonk Man.

Who do YOU think should be inducted this year?

Tazz Dan 11-09-2009 11:05 PM

Chris Benoit

DAMN iNATOR 11-09-2009 11:08 PM

I think one of these years, Rock should go in. And I'm sure they'll give it heavy consideration for this year, especially if he does well hosting RAW January 4th, 2010.

mike adamle 11-09-2009 11:39 PM

I'm sure The Rock going into the HOF all depends on how well his guest hosting does.

Traiklin1982 11-09-2009 11:47 PM

I think Chris Benoit does deserve to be in the HOF someday. They need to judge him on what he did in the ring not at home. What he did was partly to blaim on the WWE in my opinion. The guy had a ton of brain damage and had the brain of an 80 yr old altzeimers patient. I dont see him having that kind of brain damage without it having to do with what he did in that ring. He had to have known he had some kind of brain damage but he prob loved wrestling to much to take a break or change his in ring style(Which was the best in my opinion) So him not getting into the HOF would be a slap in the face to any real wrestling fan who loved all his matches. We are talking about a wrestler who could wrestle a mop to a match of the year type match. Thats how good Benoit was.

They barley even acknowledge he was in their company and you expect him to be in the HOF?

Storer50 11-10-2009 12:20 AM

Warlord and Akeem the African Dream. Hey if Koko B Ware gets in that opens the door for alot of guys. I don't like the idea of LOD going in the same year as Demolition. I really think John Tenta needs to go in, was well as King Kong Bundy and Bam Bam Bigelow.

wehavebensavedy2j 11-10-2009 03:05 AM

Should be Ted Dibiase, LOD, Owen Hart, Ron Simmons, Shane O Mac (just saying if hes leaving he should be inducted)

Rammsteinmad 11-10-2009 04:05 AM

Agreed Demolition should be inducted first since they were in the WWE first and i'd say wait and put LOD the following year. Otherwise they will run out of tag teams to put in the HOF in no time since they've been almost a non-entity since the brand split. Would have liked to have seen The Hart Foundation & The Rockers in there but there highly unlikely due to the fact they each have a huge solo candidate.

LuigiD 11-10-2009 04:48 PM

Ron Simmons? a bit surprised. Don't get me wrong..I think Ron Simmons is awesome but I don't know..never pictured him going into the HOF. At least this early..

thedamndest 11-10-2009 04:59 PM

Do you think they will put Droz in with LOD? They didn't put Gary Cherone in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame for his work with Van Halen, but on the other hand Droz does have his paralysis going for him.

Vastardikai 11-10-2009 05:00 PM

Well, Johnny Rodz and Koko B. Ware are both in the Hall of Fame. And both have accomplished much LESS than Simmons.

Are you kidding me.....what did you think Ron Simmons didn't have the credentials for getting into the Hall of Fame.....the credentials they look at are not just based on a wrestler's time spent in just WWE, but rather the span of their entire wrestling career.

Ron Simmons was the first WCW Champion to be of African American descent. His title reign was given to him and pushed for by Bill Watts of all people which was a suprise, and showed how high Watts was on Simmon's talent and charisma, and how natural athletes from other sports could be proof positive turned into pro wrestlers.

Simmmons winning the WCW Title set the bar for African American Wrestlers to be considered in the picture for a Heavyweight Championship run down the road in many promotions.

For that right ther alone, Simmons should be a first ballot winner into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Rick Rude is long overdue.

Nark Order 11-10-2009 05:34 PM

Really pulling for Savage here but I'd sooner bet on Steph being a closet transvestite than WWE putting Randy Savage into the Hall of Fame.

taker707 11-10-2009 05:42 PM

The Sun posted the following article today examining the possibility of Warrior being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year.

The Ultimate Warrior could be a surprise inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame next year as the often troubled relationship between the former WWE Champion and Vince McMahon has apparently been thawed out.

On top of that, Warrior lives in Phoenix — the site of WrestleMania XXVI — and it’s interesting to note that the event will be the 20th anniversary of his epic victory over Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI. Furthermore, he has been featured on the company website much more frequently in recent months.

Completely forgot about him but yeah, he'd definitely be a contender and I'm honestly surprised he's not in yet.

Phenomenal 1 11-10-2009 09:32 PM

If we are going to talk managers, tag team wrestlers, and minorities going into the WWE Hall of Fame....even though its a little soon perhaps....lets talk women....I think Trish Stratus is a fitting example of the women's division of wrestling and how she helped it not to die in the late 90's and paved the way for women in wrestling today....so I think Trish should be added to the list of people to go in...perhaps not this year but in a few years down the road.

Phenomenal 1 11-10-2009 09:34 PM

I don't care what a working relationship between Vince and former talent is....the hall of fame should be about honoring the wrestler, their legacy, and how they impacted the business and how they helped draw fans to the sport. Because of that I say its time for the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time to come home....Lets get the Honkey Tonk Man inducted. Wayne Ferris may be a dick in real life....but the guy put butts in the seats and left his mark on the business.

Xero 11-10-2009 09:35 PM

I really don't think anyone under 40 should be inducted (deaths and career-ending injuries excluded, of course). Because before 40 there's a relatively high chance of a full-time return.

Phenomenal 1 11-10-2009 09:45 PM

Honkey Tonk Man is def over 40 and Trish has said it on numerous occasions that other than perhaps an occasional return for one time only....she's hung the boots up for good....good enough in my book to say let her in....but i can see your point Xero...so touche to you good sir!!

Who will be inducted and who should be inducted inducted are two entirely different lists.... guys like Owen, Bulldog, Rude, Haku, Savage & The Rock should be inducted..... but I can see Ted DiBiase (for sure), LOD & Ron Simmons being inducted this year, maybe even Bulldog because his son David finally made the roster

FourFifty 11-12-2009 07:37 PM

I think in a good 20 years Lance Storm will go in.

However, with this year...
LOD, Ron Simmions, Rude, Ted DiBiase, The Bulldog, and a few others.
I think that Savage OR the Warrior should go in this year. I don't want to see both of them in one because that would be too much star power. It would be like Hogan trying to main event his comeback tour with Flair.... :shifty:
But that's another thread for another time.

Theo Dious 11-12-2009 08:17 PM

Yeah this is going to be a DAMN good year for the HOF. :D
