I was transfering data from my external hdd to my laptop and all of a sudden the computer hung and I decided to the pull the usb plug. So after restarting the laptop the HDD wouldn't be detected. And once it was detected My Computer showed it as a Drive but couldn't determine the capacity and I couldn't access it. So I rebooted and started Ubuntu. Miraciously the HDD opened and I was able to see my files. But when I tried to copy one of the files from my external HDD to my laptop, it would show me an "input/output error" message (which my friend called "right protected"). I have 400+ GB data on it.
