A lot of people are emailing us about net stories that Shane McMahon has cashed out "50 to 80 millions dollars of his WWE stock" to buy a piece of the UFC MMA company. All I can say is I am hearing the rumors, but I don't know if there is anything to them.

Dana and Shane are buddies so it's very possible. Not to say it's legit, but it's possible. Doesn't really matter though, UFC isn't a wrestling company Shane can't come out and get belly to bellied through glass during ufc 108. Him owning stakes would probably not change anything about the company.

If a McMahon is going to be involved I just might have to watch UFC one of these days.

I'm sure those sentiments were shared by people who never thought that his father would buy up the majority of the North American regional territories and go on to make his company THE wrestling company in the world.

Maybe Vince will sweep in and buy it from under his nose this time.

Update from PWInsider:

At this point in time, Shane McMahon has not sold his WWE stock to buy into the UFC company. He sold a minor amount of his stock in July but has made no sale since according to the WWE's SEC Filing page, which was updated today. As an officer in the company, WWE would have to report any stock sale by Shane. That doesn't mean he couldn't do it in the future but as for now, he has not sold his stock.

Apparently Shane McMahon was responsible for overseeing WWE expand in international markets (UK, Germany, Asia, South America, etc). He could bring alot to UFC in this regard, as they have been expanding into international markets (UK, Germany, Austraila, Ireland).
