Tiger Woods in an accident and in serious condition

Quote:

Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported.

Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, FHP reported.

Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released.

FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph.
It almost has to be alcohol related..

Just heard FHP said that Alcohol wasnt a factor and he's apparently got a torn up face. Hmm.

Emperor Smeat 11-27-2009 03:14 PM

ESPN put the article up early about the accident and then pulled the article and changed it to mention no alcohol as a factor. It was such a quick change that most people are believing he might have been drunk after all (ESPN is one of the big advertisers for golf tournaments where Tiger Woods plays).

Splaya 11-27-2009 03:15 PM

Define torn up face.

Also, charges are apparently pending

Gertner 11-27-2009 03:18 PM

Will he receive a one stroke penalty?

Severe facial lacerations = torn up face

I seriously doubt that alcohol wasn't a factor. I mean, just figure it was Thanksgiving, he could have only been buzzed on wine, but very few sober people are going to ram their Escalade over a fire hydrant and into a tree doing less than 33 mph right outside their own house.

My guess is he tore his face up because the airbags didn't deploy and his head smacked either the steering wheel or the windshield upon hitting the tree.

Gertner 11-27-2009 03:34 PM

lol Splaya neg repping me. The only thing more disgusting than Woods's face right now is the city of Detroit.

Droford 11-27-2009 03:36 PM

I could neg rep you for starting the same thread in General 15 minutes after I put this here but I wont.

OssMan 11-28-2009 12:45 AM

it's called casual

Droford 11-28-2009 02:27 AM

General/Casual..the same thing.

Also, TMZ supposedly is reporting that his wife beat him up because he was cheating on her, so he hurriedly tried to get away which caused the accident and she was chasing him with the golf club that she supposedly rescued him out of the SUV with.

This is gonna be fun. He's gonna get ass raped in court if they have to get divorced. First billion dollar athlete? Ha..not any more.

BCWWF 11-28-2009 06:32 PM

Seriously, what is the deal with the lack of information coming out of this case?

The man crashes a Cadillac Escalade in his driveway at 2 a.m., and it is so bad that he has facial lacerations and was drifting in and out of consciousness. Then his wife happens to be right there to "save" him.

Yet the police have basically nothing to say? There is clearly something going on here, and it is ridicules that the police are basically protecting him by playing it down to this point as if it was a routine car accident.

ddpBANG 11-28-2009 06:42 PM

Tiger nor his wife have even talked to the police yet. They keep turning them away.

Sounds like Tiger and his wife got into a fight, his wife scratched his face, and he's putting the cops off til he can heal a bit so the cops can't prove she scratched him.

Skippord 11-28-2009 07:58 PM

that makes more sense, I figured he was just the worst driver of all time

ClockShot 11-28-2009 08:31 PM

Wife caught him with another woman, chased him and/or her out of the house with one of his clubs, he's in full panic mode and crashes, she bust a window to get to him, only to find that he's banged up pretty god from said crash.

Atleast, that what I heard from a few friends today...

parkmania 11-30-2009 07:04 PM

Heard something about the police getting a search warrant cuz they were pissed about Tiger keeping blowing them off.

Droford 11-30-2009 08:17 PM

Im tired of hearing about this now.

screech 12-01-2009 08:37 AM

I'm kinda pissed that sports fans expect an explanation from him about it.

It was a traffic accident. He doesn't need to say anything to the sports world because this didn't have anything to do with sports. There are two people to whom he should apologize: his wife (/family I suppose), and his neighbor. That's it.

parkmania 12-01-2009 01:59 PM

You children could die if you don't watch!

Splaya 12-01-2009 02:11 PM

Update: Tiger will have charges pressed against him, and his wife will not get charges pressed against him.

AND NOW A 2ND WOMAN SAID SHE HAD A 31 MONTH AFFAIR WITH TIGER WOODS...

BCWWF 12-01-2009 02:26 PM

A second woman? When the "first" woman so adamantly denied the rumors that she was preparing lawsuits against the news outlets?

Splaya 12-01-2009 02:36 PM

Correct

Kris P Lettus 12-01-2009 03:02 PM

He's getting a "careless driving" citation..

$164 fine..

NOT A BIG DEAL

OssMan 12-03-2009 01:01 AM

Tiger... more like Cheetah

am i right

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-03-2009 01:35 AM

He can fuck off with the crying about the privacy thing. If you want privacy give all the money back you've made from being endorsed by 1,000 different things and having your face/name plastered everywhere in the public.

Or get a normal job and don't play golf for a living

Loose Cannon 12-03-2009 04:16 PM

yea, that's pretty much my thoughts. I was on the other side of the fence at first, but it's true. Once you done all he has done with endorsements and everything, you're pretty much giving up your right to privacy.

Loose Cannon 12-03-2009 04:19 PM

all Tiger has to do now is allign himself to Suge Knight, change his image and he'll grab a whole new crowd that will praise the "player card" he has

BCWWF 12-03-2009 05:36 PM

Tiger doesn't have to say anything. I don't blame him for not.

My initial complaint in this thread was that the police and news media were repeating obvious bullshit.

BCWWF 12-03-2009 05:38 PM

Also, Stima is blurring the line between public figures and private lives. Tiger is a public figure who doesn't have the assumption of privacy when he is in public, but he was undoubtedly not in public and there is absolutely no reason he should have to face the public about an affair if he doesn't want to.

Public endorsements aren't the same thing as your private life. The face he advertises in public has nothing to do with his private life. He is just making money and playing golf. As far as sports celebrities go, Tiger isn't the type to purposely draw attention to himself with drama and crap like some celebrities do. So I would say he deserves to have his privacy if he wishes it. The media has been tearing this apart from the start, and if it really is a personal dispute then he shouldn't have to explain it to the media so they can run with it even more.

Droford 12-03-2009 09:46 PM

LOL at Tiger being embarassed about his small calves.

50 dollars says hes really gay and everything is a huge coverup.

This.

It's easy for a nobody to say that a celebrity doesn't deserve privacy when he/she can just go to work, go to McDonalds, hit up a movie, and go home without anybody giving a damn about them. Tiger Woods is good at what he does. If he is being shown on television for doing what he does then hey, im sure he didn't ask for that. I'm pretty sure he, and any other famous person for that matter, would just take the money and say fuck the fame.

At the end of the day, he is a god damn human being and lol its not like he's a politician who IS using your money and doing dumb shit. He plays a sport, he wins at it, goes home and kisses his wife and child (and according to reports, someone else lol) and does what he does. Why the fuck do i, or anyone else, need to know about any of that? Oh, thats right, because he whoops everyone's ass on the green.

Like Requiem, if he were to force himself all on TV, make a fool out of himself/herself, etc then hey, that would be his fault. LOL i love how people think like this when there probably aren't more than 30 people who know him/her.

Emperor Smeat 12-04-2009 01:51 AM

I think its more of a mix that the story involves TMZ trying to get more information and Tiger not revealing what exactly happened to the police made this a bigger issue than it should have been.

TMZ is notorious for trying to get a story any way possible then flood the news with it for a while and if the police are trying to get information but keep being rejected it ends up people wanting to know more.

Popular athletes cheating on their wife or family isn't something new but with Tiger it was how strange the story sounded that makes people wanting to know more than is needed.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-04-2009 03:29 AM

I'm not saying I want to know what he's doing, or even care that he crashed his car at the end of his driveway. At the same time though I don't feel bad for him, he knew exactly what he was getting into. He didn't have to become a professional golfer, he needs to expect people to be going crazy over this if he expect to makes millions off endorsements. If he is cashing in on the interest (if people weren't interested he wouldn't get the endorsements) he needs to expect people to be interested when crazy shit like this does down too.

He traded in some of his privacy for all the fame & money, sorry but that's how it goes. We've all made compromises in life and I don't think any of us make millions playing a sport that most people do to get away from work.

but if Tiger really wants to avoid this whole situation why doesn't he try not driving into a fire hydrant at the end of his driveway at 2:30am?

Johnny Vegas 12-05-2009 12:47 AM

Dude, you mean to tell me that because you are famous because you are good at what you do and people pay YOU to be on their cereal box and that entitles you to NO privacy? Duh, if he doesn't want stuff like this to happen then don't do it but WAY easier said than done to be "perfect".

And thats not the way it goes. Thats the way it goes for people who are concerned about someone else's life other than their own and have nothing better to do than see what is going to become of "Tiger and what's her name's marriage". Give me a break :nono:

Hell, if i was old enough to know about when Bill Clinton got his dick sucked, i wouldn't have given a 100th of a shit than these other wasteless morons who worry about other people and their business. I honestly hope that TMZ gets hit with some type of huge lawsuit by all of the celebrities and goes bankrupt and loses all of their 401k money.

If he gets whatever is coming to him, fine. If not, then whatever. Who cares and whatever the fuck happens, let THEM deal with on THEIR time and THEIR privacy. Losing your privacy by becoming famous is the most retarded shit i've ever heard. Just forget that you put your pants on the same way i do because you are on TV more than i am.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-05-2009 02:05 AM

Where did I say he should get NO privacy? It's not like we have a 24 hour live stream of his living room or something. Still though, if you are a public figure and you have a very suspicious car crash the public is gonna want to know the details. Yeah its annoying and doesn't make sense and scum companies like TMZ make bank of it but oh well - that's what you signed up for when you decided to be a highly marketable professional golfer. He could discontinued playing after Stanford and got a "normal" job if he wanted, but he chose his career path and now he has to live with it. Tough shit

BCWWF 12-05-2009 11:01 AM

Public figures don't have the same expectation to privacy that commoners have, but that isn't what this is at all.

He doesn't owe us anything. There is no reason why he would have to tell us the details of his affairs and his marriage problems.
