The Walking Dead (Graphic Novel)

My bro introduced me to this and I swear I will collect every issue. It's an excellent zombie horror whose gimmick is to "never end". Can't argue with that. I just finished issue 9. Any other readers? And if you're not reading, do it.

I read the first 2 graphic novels. Then I recommended it to my friend who is a huge zombie freak and he has all of them. I borrow a volume here and there when I have time. It is excellent IMO. The Walking Dead would make a great TV show I think. Animated or not.

I think Showtime would do it justice as far as a violent ongoing series goes. And if no studio wants to touch it, it's still great as a comic.

Great series. Just finished collection #9. Shit keeps getting crazier.

Also this is being developed as a series on AMC

I absolutely love The Walking Dead, although not quite as much as Kirkman's other beyond-awesome series (Invincible, which is the single greatest comic ever and you all need to read it right the fuck now). One particularly great thing that they both have in common is that there's no status quo, no 'back to normal' to return to. If terrible shit happens to someone, they're affected by it and stay that way. I also loved his ideas about zombie behavior, the different names for them (roamers, lurkers, etc), and whanot. All in all, it's just a brilliant series.

If you'd asked me a year ago about AMC doing a series, I would have ran for the hills. But between Mad Men and The Prisoner, they're actually churning out some high-quality stuff, so who knows? Maybe they can pull it off.

I think it would make an interesting MMO.

If this takes off then AMC is the network to beat

I really should check out some of the comics.

I'm not really a hardcore zombie enthusiast, but I did get the reprint of the first issue for a dollar several months ago and I enjoyed it. I don't see myself making time to read this series right now, but I'm sure it's well done.

I sometimes but not usually go out of the superhero/familiar character route (at least not yet.. maybe when I get more jaded I will) but I just got 3 vol's of The Invisbles because I love Grant.

I'm not a zombie enthusiast either, but that looks good.

I've been meaning to read the comic book, but I'm not sure I want to now because it would give spoilers for the TV show (unless they make the show different).

love zombies. LOVE this book. have all 12 released trade paperbacks and i keep up on monthly issues online. cannot wait for this series.

Looks like I need to read this next and the series is done by Frank Darabont which should be good.

Andrew Lincoln was a really good actor in Teachers, be interesting to see what he does here.

they better not. i don't care how spoiled i am. if they mess with the book, it loses its whole purpose.

Why aren't these threads merged by now? What kind lazy, laissez faire moderators are running. This joint? :n:
