I think he might win the title at TLC. And then hold it till Mania where it will possibly be his last match. He's a heel and it's time for a heel to grab a title I believe. And this should be his last run.

Yeah Batista will probably get the title at the Royal Rumble. I am guessing that means that chairs are encouraged to be used and are probably the sole weapon that is allowed in the match. Personally, 2 months of Taker vs. Batista can't be that bad. Their '07 feud contained four good matches, specificially WM23. However, their Last Man Standing, Hell In the Cell, and Cyber Sunday matches were very good.

Am I the only one who feels it would make more sense to have Batista win the World Heavyweight Title at Tables, Ladders & Chairs than the Royal Rumble?

If he's going to win, he's going to win. I'm not looking forward to it either way.

I think it'll be good to establish him as a heel, since he was still getting pops against Rey, but still not looking forward to it.

Makes 2 of us Juan, but just think about it. We won't have to endure it long before he either gets injured or busted for roids again.

I like the new heel Batista. He doesn't dance around anymore and is trying really hard to be hard hitting as he used to be back in the Evolution days. I think age is a factor for Big Dave.

At least he doesn't wrestle as Deacon Batista anymore. I'll give him that.

Why would you think Batista is about to retire? That is not going to happen. All wrestlers want to retire relatively young and on top... haha but they never do.

It would make sense for Taker to drop the belt now and not lose it the same night as Cena as I believe there RTW feud will begin around or at The Rumble itself.

I'd be interested in a Cena/Batista match at Mania with both titles on the line, but not in a unification style match. Realistically though, a Cena/Batista match at Mania with or without titles interests me. That's probably the biggest match WWE could put on, especially considering their previous match at Summerslam 2008. The only match that could possibly top it would be Cena/Undertaker. I'd prefer Cena/Batista though.

-Edge
-Undertaker (although Taker being involved in the match would be too obvious of an outcome).

I really hope that we see a John Cena/Rock match but if not, then I could definitely see Cena/Batista happening.

I think EDGE would benefit the most out of defeating Batista (if he returns on time) Edge has always been one of the top guys in the company but has never really beaten anyone of significance (cleanly) other than Angle and Foley. A clean win over Batista would really help Edge be put in the same category as Cena, HHH, and Undertaker.

p.s._____I'm not sure how much truth there is in regards to this being Batista's "swan song." If it isn't, then I highly doubt that this would be his last title run.

One thing about Batista winning the World Heavyweight Title, though: I think it goes against his character a bit. I mean, he is pissed off because he isn't the World Heavyweight Champion. If he wins the title, sure, he can still be an asshole and such; but it just proves that he is good enough to be the World Champion still, and it takes some desperation out of the character.

I know heels are awesome when they are right, but I think that there needs to be something for Big Dave to prove. If he defeats The Undertaker for the World Title; he proves it. Feels like an abortion of the heel turn to me. I'd rather see Batista become obsessed with someone. Maybe not Rey Mysterio. Another face who eliminates Batista from the Royal Rumble, or something. As much as I hate to suggest this match; maybe The Great Khali (although I am not sure how close he is to returning). You know that Khali will be involved in big angles when he returns, so why not pile the crap together?

Don't get me wrong -- I do see Batista having another World Title run. It just doesn't feel right to me right now. The dude is still adjusting to his heel role. I'd like to see his character grow, and really define itself as a "villain" before Batista wins the big one again.

It would be hilarious if Rey came back and played this on the titan tron then everyone would chant "Dancin Dave" over and over hahaha it would make me laugh. And eventually one day he would dance and turn back face. Hahaha

On a semi-related note, I laughed hysterically when Linda McMahon fired Jim Ross on RAW and then unexpectedly kicked him in the nuts. :D
