Pick Your Favorite Judd Apatow Project

SSIA. Pick & defend your favorite Judd Apatow film/show. :y:

Jeritron 12-10-2009 02:58 PM

Picked Knocked Up because I think it's his best movie yet, and does his best job of balancing comedy and drama.
Really hard to vote against 40 Year Old Virgin, Freaks and Geeks, and Funny People. They're all fantastic.

Superbad not so much. It's fantastic but he only produced it. I'd give Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg the credit on that one.

Buzzkill 12-10-2009 03:02 PM

lol Heavyweights, no wonder that movie was amazing

Anyway, 40 year old virgin I think. Though choice

The Jayman 12-10-2009 03:20 PM

I voted 40 year old virgin b/c it was my 2nd favorite Apatow project.

You forgot the best one, Schlomey.....Anchorman!

Schlomey 12-10-2009 03:38 PM

I saw that on the list but he was only listed as producer so, there again, is another choice that probably wont get picked because he didn't really write or direct. I love me some anchorman, btw.

The Jayman 12-10-2009 03:55 PM

Anchorman is the shit

weather vane 12-10-2009 03:58 PM

Every single thing on there I enjoy...

I'll refrain from voting as I haven't seen all of the mentioned, however I gotta say I really enjoy his movies. Damn, Step Brothers were funny as hell to me, and people tend to rant about how stupid and bad it is.

thedamndest 12-10-2009 06:50 PM

Very close between Freaks and Geeks, 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. I'm going with 40-Year-Old Virgin. Freaks and Geeks was great and very ahead of its time, but ultimately incomplete because it was canceled. Knocked Up is good too, but I think Seth Rogen is a better sideman than lead. That's pretty much what this comes down too. He was great in the role, but at times there was just a little too much Seth Rogen. That's probably a personal taste.

Triple Naitch 12-10-2009 07:16 PM

Freaks and Geeks. Way ahead of its time. If it was on today, the ratings would be much better. His humor just wasn't fully appreciated yet.

thedamndest 12-10-2009 07:23 PM

I think if it were on today it would be more serialized as well.

Loose Cannon 12-11-2009 12:20 AM

Knocked up is my favorite movie of his, but Freaks and Geeks was just so amazing and I could not vote against it

Schlomey 12-11-2009 12:35 AM

I'm waiting until I finish both UnDeclared and F&G. I have 2 eps of F&G left and all but 3 eps of Undeclared.

So far F&G is the better show but I'm laughing more with Undeclared.

He is pretty awesome.

jerichoholicninja 12-11-2009 01:08 AM

Walk Hard. Only because I'm a music history nerd and was the only one of my friends that got the majority of the jokes.

Skippord 12-11-2009 05:15 AM

I can't decide between Walk Hard, Pineapple Express, and The Critic

Downunder 12-11-2009 08:04 AM

I've seen two of those movies, and neither of them were any good.

nah, Talladega Nights cracked me up

Droford 12-11-2009 08:33 AM

I couldnt vote for any movie with Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen or John C Reilly in it, and as much as it pained me to vote for 40 Year Old Virgin, that was pretty much all that was left that Ive seen.

Ive only liked 2 Will Ferrell Movies ever (ELF and Talladega Nights) and I couldnt vote for TN over 40YOV ever.

Schlomey 12-11-2009 09:36 AM

John C. Reilly is amazing. The end.

Skippord 12-11-2009 12:09 PM

you couldn't vote for any movie with Seth Rogen in it and you voted for 40 Year Old Virgin, Droford?

ron the dial 12-12-2009 03:49 PM

freaks and greeks easily

PapaGeorgio 12-12-2009 05:02 PM

Not really his project, but clearly The Larry Sanders Show was best thing he was ever part of. I feel we can all agree on that, probably why you left it off the poll.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-12-2009 07:31 PM

Did Appatow have nothing to do with Role Models? Because that movie is better than all of his ones, even though I like them. Same with I Love You Man.

I think it's cuz I like Rudd better than Rogan... that being said, Knocked Up is mine answer.

Gonna have to agree 100% with you there.

The 40 Year Old Virgin! Such as awesome movie!

Zeeboe 01-18-2010 04:03 PM

Not really a big Judd Apatow fan. I hate stupid comedies like Step Brothers and Pineapple Express. Never even saw Pineapple Express. Didn't wanna waste the time, but I sadly did see Step Brothers, and thought it was the worst movie ever made. Litreally. Out of all the films I have seen, and out of all the movies that have been made for over one hundred years, I truly believe Step Brothers stands as one of the worst movies ever made. The fact that people like it truly makes me worry about the future of the world.

I always thought Heavyweights was just okay. I did like Freaks and Geeks though, as well as The 40-Year Old Virgin and Funny People. (Especially for the "Fuck facebook!" line.) Other then that, I'd say Apatow is over-rated.

I saw him on TV at the Oscars last year. Some news reporter dude.....cannot remember who he was....asked him if there was an earthquake, and if he could save one person, who would he save, and ol' Judd said his wife.....I thought that was fuckin' cheesy as hell. He had a chance to make a great joke, and he blew it all so he could get some extra dick-sucking that night. :n: Anyhow, I wouldn't weep too much if Judd joined Michael Jackson in hades.

weather vane 01-18-2010 04:39 PM

Zeeboe you are terrible.

Zeeboe 01-18-2010 05:02 PM

Thank you.
