Double Turns
I dunno. It seems like people suggest it a lot.
When was the last actual double turn though? Wrestlemania 13? What are some other ones that may have happened? |
Survivor Series 88: Demolition/Powers of Pain
When Honky Tonk hit Jake with the guitar on the Snake Pit, it was a double turn When The Horsemen kicked Sting out of the group at Clash 10, that moment kind of turned the J-Tex Corporation to defacto faces when the faced the Horsemen later in the night. The Horsemen and Sting were babyfaces before they booted Sting |
SHAWN MICHAELS - BARBER SHOP.
:shifty: |
When Hogan came to save Macho and Sting, only to join Hall and Nash.
|
How about when Arquette cost DDP the Title in the triple cage?

Brett Hart/Austin where Austin passed out and Brett wouldn't release the Sharpshooter? Was that WM13?
|
lol good god

The Powers of Pain/Demolition one came across as very awkward.

The time that Tony Schiavone talked bad about WWE on the final Nitro.
|
I know Triple H has done it a few times over the past several years.

I'd like to see Batista feign a double-turn by saving Rey then, telling him that nobody but him is going to get the satisfaction of ending his career. :D
|
Some of you have no idea what the term "double turn" really means.
|
Hogan joining the nWo was not a double turn. He was a face and he turned heel. That's called a heel turn. Same thing with Arquette turning on DDP. Heel turn. Batista blindsiding Rey wouldn't be a double turn either.
Hart/Austin is a double turn because going into the match, Hart was the face and Austin was the heel, but by the end of it, Austin was the face and Hart was the heel. They essentially swapped their positions as good and bad. The last time I remember this happening was with Stone Cold and Kurt Angle after Survivor Series 2001. Austin was the heel with the Alliance and Angle was the guy who made sure that the WWE defeated the Alliance at Survivor Series. He should have been treated as a savior by the fans for defeating the Alliance, but instead was booed mercilessly while Austin, hellbent on revenge against Angle, was cheered. |

Gangrel came out bragging that he had sex with Terry while they were licking there wounds then both the Hardies and E+C jumped Gangrel while being cheered |
Fox, Batista just turned heel, idiot.
|
Sarcasm does not play well online apparently. Either that or I've been gone from TPWW too long and everyone who liked sarcasm died and / or vanished.

It doesn't refer to one guy going from heel to face to heel. LOL at "idiot" though. I love when people try to show their superiority while they're completely wrong. It's so cute. |
Two examples I can think of, but they're situations where two faces are feuding and the crowd is leaning towards one guy making the other a quasi-heel:
Tatanka and Lex Luger: Tatanka got the crowd to start turning on Luger because there was evidence Luger was joining the Million Dollar Corporation, but then it turned out Tatanka was the one joining. Rock and Austin: Going into WM X7, the crowd was definitely pro-Austin, especially since the event was in Texas. You could hear plenty of boos towards Rocky. Then Austin turned and the crowd got behind the Rock again |
oh duh, Kane and Triple H did one at WM 15
|
and Foley and Rock at Survivor Series

the rare occurrence when both the heel and the face switch roles during an angle or a match. An example of this is the Bret Hart/Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 13 and the Powers of Pain/Demolition at Survivor Series 1988." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...restling_terms Yes, it's Wikipeia, but the point is that this "made-up word" is a known term in the wrestling industry, i.e. the industry that we discuss in this, the wrestling q&a forum. Stop calling people idiots when you are simply wrong. |

And the reason it isn't done anymore is because they don't really listen to the fans. They decide who they want as the faces and the heels, and just shove em down everyone's throats, regardless of fan response. At one time, I believe it would have been possible to do a double turn scenario between Orton & Cena, but now, I"m not really sure.
|
The most recent double turn (in main stream wrestling, I don't fallow indies) that comes to mind is the Austin/Angle event. Though, the aftermath of the entire invasion clusterfuck was so convoluted that it seems like everyone was turning left and right for no determinable reason. Still, Austin and Angle did perform a proper double turn.
As for Deathtotheswiss; you're an idiot. Yes it's a made up term for a made up business...but so is the word "push". Or did you think that all this times we've been talking about people physically pushing someone from behind? Or that a strange number of fans who buy into wrestling are named Mark? |
lol epic fail by Deathtotheswiss

lol definitely. Get your facts straight, DeathtotheSwisscheese
|
Any recent ones?
