Will WWE Crumble?
WWE has gone through alot lately. The product has been stale for some time now, and they are seemingly shoving new talent down our throats and giving them pushes they aren't ready for yet. The ratings seem to gradually be getting lower and lower. All the while, Shane McMahon will be leaving WWE in just 2 weeks time, and Linda McMahon has already left WWE, with Vince assuming the position of CEO along with Chairman.
In terms of competition, both the UFC and TNA Wrestling seem to really be gunning for WWE in terms of PPV marketshare, and viewership. With all of these factors, competition, top ranking executives & family members leaving WWE, falling ratings, lack of talent depth, and most of all out of UFC, TNA Wrestling, and WWE, WWE is the only one that is a publicly traded company which means they have to please shareholders, which means the way they make decisions and run their business would be different if they were not a publicly traded company. WWE did just over $500 million dollars in fiscal year 2008, which by todays standards is no where near being viewed as a "giant" company. With all of these issues, will WWE crumble and eventually become non-existent as a company, or maybe a much smaller regional private company? Are the odds against them? |
Sheamus will lead the WWE to new heights never before seen.
So no. In all seriousness, they'll allow TNA to become a competitor and reignite the 'wars' before bowing out like that. |
Outside of a buy out (and you KNOW that would never happen) WWE will not die. If worst came to worst, they'd cut out all shows but RAW and go back to 12 PPVs a year at a cheaper rate.
As it stands, it would take years to even reach that point, even WITH the "competition". |
No, at very worst they'll just put out aload of shit shows but they wont 'crumble'.
|
UFC and WWE aren't in direct competition.
|
This is the least stale the product has been for some time now. The undercard is loaded with talent. Two of the three brands put on solid shows on a weekly basis. PPV's have been pretty good this year. People will come around. Give it time.

Also, this thread seems to come up every month which is getting annoying....

WWE and Karate Fighters present Royal Crumble IN YOUR HOUSE!
|
lol what an idiotic thread
The WWE is pretty much invulnerable these days. Doesn't matter what crap they throw around, they're pretty much always gonna make a profit and there ain't a damn thing that anyone in the wrasslin business can do to stop them. |
Whether or not the WWE will crumble depends entirely on whether or not you care for swagger
Also, whether or not the American Raw has run it's course |

We all sometimes forget WWE was very very close to going bankrupt and vince is the only one to really know how close they were . could it happen agaim its always a possibility but i doubt it
|
no ufc will go head to head with WWE the january 11th, the damndest.
|
I don't think they'll ever crumble, but they're damn sure getting worse and worse with time, instead of any kind of better.
|
A lot of sports go head to head with RAW, doesn't mean they're direct competition.
|
I've been saying this for years, and those of you thinking this is an idiotic thread should pull your heads out of your asses. Yes, it's been a slow kill so far, but WWE has gone no where but down since the fall of WCW, and TNA really has no where to go but up. I mean geeze, WCW was doing better than this at least in viewership when everyone claimed that it sucked, so what does that say about the current WWE? I mean I love wrestling, but I'll be honest in saying I hold a slight grudge with them only because they've allowed the business to get in this shape. I mean how can I lend support to a company that's made something I love turn to junk over the past eight years?

The thing is, YOU aren't the target demographic. They don't NEED, nor do they really WANT you. They have a demo that will buy and watch anything. That's all they need.
