TPWW Character Battle Royale
 

I've seen these done before on sites like gamefaqs, or maybe it was IGN? Either way, those things are usually always biased and end with the same 3 lame characters winning. I am proposing we here at TPWW make our own version of this, but I want input first before attempting or wasting time doing so. Firstly, would anyone be interested in this type of thing and if so, which game characters should we enter? How many? Simple questions like this. Just post here your thoughts please and thank you.

See I'd want to be different though. Break it down into smaller sub categories. Have preliminary qualifiers from each genre and say the top 4 from each prelim move on. Maybe have 15 characters from each genre of gaming in each prelim? We vote for said period of time, then the top 4 move to the next round, and we start our brackets to declare the overall most popular video game character on TPWW.

I've done something like this. People won't care. But who cares, go for it.

Ok I see what you're getting at. It sounds like it could be interesting, but like Kaylx said you probably won't get much support, but you will likely get enough to continue.

That being said Link will probably still win, he always seems to.

Let's break down our prelims then Kalyx. I'm thinking we should have an FPS group, an RTS group, an action/adventure group, an RPG group, a fighting group, and an Exclusives group. That would give us a 24 character start to run with.

You would need to add a few more to get it up to 32 to break it down evenly in the later rounds.

Yea I was shooting for 32 then have the top 2 from each bracket move to the next round and so on. I just don't want to have gay shit like "l-block" from Tetris which for some odd reason always manages to beat characters like Gordon Freeman and Falco. Shit irks me so much.

You could possibly have about 20 nominations for each of several dozen genres (Sports, Wrestling, FPS, Action, Adventure) and system (all of them)

See I originally thought about doing that. Have 3 categories devoted solely to exclusive characters, but that'd take from other categories as well. Let me open a blank word document and make a mock list and see what you guys think.

I'm pretty sure it's planned on those "1337" type website where everyone acts like an ass to everyone else because they have self esteem issue in reality.
I'm sure they tried to get Bubble & Bobble to win some character battle or other "for teh lulz".

but yeah, I'd be up for a TPWW character battle. We do similair things in other parts of the forum and they go on for 100's of threads so a 32 character battle shouldn't be a stretch.

Done and done. Took Peach out cuz she is a whore and isn't worthy of the title badass IMO. All she does well is get herself kidnapped by Bowser.

Ok, gonna start with prelim #1 tomorrow night. Prelims will last 24 hours and the top 4 from each prelim will go to the main contest. In the event of a tie, the characters who tie will have a character against character battle lasting 1 hour. Whoever gets the most votes then moves on and the rest get deleted off the master list. Kalyx, and Jayman, I may need you 2 to be my other judges on this.

I'm down, but what duties would befall a judge?
