Longest it has taken you to beat a game
Final Fantasy 6 I started when I was in sixth grade. I got to the floating continent and got really frustrated because I could never find out where to go and I kept dying and probably couldn't beat some boss. When I started playing again probably two or three years later I beat the floating continent in like 30 minutes. And I think it took me about a year to beat the final boss. Not sure about that, but I know I beat it right before I went into tenth grade.
Star Ocean Till the End of Time I started right before my freshman year of high school and I got pissed at some level and stopped playing. I realized I still had the game like three years later and the same thing happened where I beat that level as soon as I started playing it again, dunno what was hard about it at all. Then I forced myself to beat the rest of the game just cause I was really far and I suffered through that stupid piece of shit for a few months and finally beat it right before senior year. So it took me three years. |
For me, I think it was Dragon Ball Z - Dragon Ball Z: Kyoushuu Saiyajin(Assault of the Saiya-jin) which took me close to about 5 months total to beat.
|
Earthbound, started playing in like 9th grade, finally beat it this year.
|
Earthbound took me about a month to beat.
|
I couldn't get past winter or something. But yeah when I played it agian this year I beat it in like a month or less
|
San Andreas - 4 months
I could not get past the second Zero mission, so I just went and blew things up for awhile while occasionally attempting the mission. |

Non-continuously? probably Super Mario World.
I got that when I was like 5-6 and didn't beat it until I was like 13-14. Continuously..probably Command and Conquer Red Alert. |
Rambo for the NES, about 16 years after I first played it I beat it on an emulator. Wasn't worth it.
|
I still can't beat Silent Hill.

Christ, I still have not started the campaign for MW2
|
Took me quite awhile to beat GTA3 (always struggled with that fucking Coffee mission where you gotta go to all 3 islands in like 15 minutes)
But when I did beat the game, it was epic cause I first played GTA 3 at a friend's house and he had already unlocked the second island. Yet I still somehow beat the game before him. |
Legend of the Dragoon.
I'm at the Divine Dragon and a bit underleveled. And I still got like 2 discs to go. |

Oh, and Ninja Gaiden Black. Took for-FUCKING-ever. Used to play, get kind of far, get pissed off and put it away for a bit, then play more and repeat. |
Vagrant Story probably took me around seven months to complete because I was really bad at the chain attack system at first. Got like halfway through and then quit. Picked it up again over a summer break and ended up figuring it out but had no idea what was going on. The time I spent on Vagrant Story was not in vain as it prepared me for Playstation 2 launch game The Summoner.
|
I just started playing Legend of the Dragoon again a week ago. Such an epic game
|
yeah i had legend of dragoon. got sorta far, stopped playing though. save file is long gone. i've probably been on Link to the Past for about a year.
|
I "beat" Super Mario 64 back in middle school, and then didn't really play it again. Then last year I finished up the last of the 120 stars.
When did I beat it? |
It depends on what your goal was when you started
Which reminds me I need to get the last 18 stars in Super Mario Galaxy |

Super Mario Bros.
Age 3 - Age 19 Didn't play it all that often obviously, but still |
Goldeneye- I got stuck on Bunker II and would get pretty pissed everytime I died. I stoped playing for a while. Then probably over a year later I picked it up randomly one night, and beat Bunker II on my first try. That really infuriated me. So I ended up beating the rest of the game in less then a month. The whole ordeal took me about 2 years though.
Same thing happened with Mario 64 as well. |
Definitely Ocarina of Time in like 4th or 5th grade
|
I had Bart Simpson: Alien Invasion or whatever it was called for the Sega Master System, before I sold all of that years ago, I'd had it for about ten years. I could never get passed the first level. :(
|
Continuous - Oblivion - I had a file with like 140 hours played over 5 months when I finally "beat" the main quest, then sunk like another 50 in on DLC. I think I went to every place and did every quest.
Non- Continuous - Ocarina of Time - Rented that shit when it first came out and never really got past the spot where you go to the desert. Finally beat it on an emulator in 2007. |
Ghost and Goblins
I started in 1985 and have yet to beat it.. HARDEST.GAME.EVER. |
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, got stuck near the end and this was before internet walkthroughs, 16 years later I came back to it and finished it.
|
TMNT on the NES took me 20 years :D
|
Command and Conquer: Generals.
I still haven't beaten the China stage, the damn terrorists keep throwing their green bombs and kicking my ass faster then I can nuke them all to hell. |
Still haven't beaten EWR and it's been months!
|
I've been stuck in the first 20 minutes of ICO for about 6 months. I think that will take a while.
|
GTA San Andreas.... still haven't beaten it... and probably never will unless they release it for PS3 again
