Doctor Who: The End of Time

Doctor Who: The End of Time Part 1 Torrent Download Link

Just finished watching part 1 of this and it was intense. Wondering what everyone else though of it? Very curious as to where everything will go, especially based on the ending. DISCUSS!

PS I  DONNA NOBLE

The Destroyer 12-26-2009 02:01 PM

Got better as it went along I thought, in that it started out quite badly and got pretty good at the end.

The Master's resurrection was badly done and although I can just about forgive him firing bursts of energy from his hands, the flying seemed a bit much. It'll be interesting to see where they go with the Time Lords coming back, but they're apparently not going to be the good guys.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-26-2009 02:02 PM

An exercise in hyperbole.

Downunder 12-27-2009 03:56 AM

Loved it

Impeccable 12-31-2009 04:48 AM

I think the specials have been better than a lot of the series. That's just my opinion. Loved the ending to part one.

The Mackem 12-31-2009 05:51 AM

Timothy Dalton, time lords - good times.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-31-2009 07:37 AM

I'm surprised Dalton would lower himself to doing Dr Who. I thought he was an "Actor".

The Destroyer 12-31-2009 01:36 PM

Even proper actors occasionally like slumming it in stuff like Doctor Who.

Dave Youell 12-31-2009 02:51 PM

Dalton loves the chance to just spit infront of camera.

Also he did Hot Fuzz, this is hardly lowering himself, also he was in Flash Gordon FFS and he was James Bond, exactly how serious do you think he takes himself?

The Destroyer 12-31-2009 02:57 PM

Plus it's not like there's been any shortage of "proper" actors in Doctor Who over the years.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-31-2009 05:30 PM

Flash Gordon is a serious piece of art.

The Mackem 01-01-2010 03:12 PM

Quality episode, loved it. No idea what the next storyline could be for Doctor Who.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-01-2010 03:28 PM

Meh. An exercise in hyperbole.

For some reason, when the new Doctor appeared, I thought the actor had been watching Heath Ledger's joker performance, before filming. Dunno why.

The Mackem 01-01-2010 03:30 PM

The missus took an instant dislike to him. He's not going to have an easy job topping Tennant to be fair.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-01-2010 03:35 PM

I am looking forward to that redheaded lass that is going to be his companion, though.

The Destroyer 01-01-2010 04:31 PM

A trailer for the next series is available for us UK folks:

Dave Youell 01-01-2010 04:37 PM

LOL @ the still not ginger line.

My Mrs also took an instant dislike to him, I'm willing to give him a shot, but my god. They really gave Tennant an epic send off

Downunder 01-02-2010 03:47 AM

My seven year old ran in to the kitchen and burst into tears when he regenerated.

But it was a hell of a send off

Didn't enjoy the second episode that much. Just seemed a lot of big set ups for poorly explained easy solutions. And that whole cheesy shit at the end was just irritating, but I guess it was also a send off for some of those characters as well.

Also annoyed that during some of the scenes at the docks, you could see the building I used to live in. If I'd have still lived there I could have watched it being filmed :(

Still don't know how I feel about the new Doctor. Looking forward to Moffats writing though.

Pretty much agree with you here. The 2nd episode didn't have that epic feeling I thought it would have for sure. It was more of a that's it feeling. The first time the Master was around, he completely owned the Doctor, this time it was pretty eh and seemed rushed.

Only thing I really disagree with is the send off. I thought it was nice and a good way to do it.

As for the new Doctor, I am trying to be as open to him as possible, it's obviously a tough act to follow but seems like a lot of people aren't willing to even give him a shot. Time will tell though.

Outsider 01-03-2010 05:51 PM

I am more than happy for Matt Smith to prove me wrong.

I thought that Billy Piper would be a terrible actress, and she was fantastic as Rose.

Will be happy to be wrong, just no so certain that I will be.

PapaGeorgio 01-03-2010 06:44 PM

It is tough for any new doctor really, which Doctor Who having such a long history and all. But the good thing is if a Doctor does end up sucking, it is not that hard to just get a new one.

Soda Popinski 01-06-2010 05:25 AM

Can someone explain to me why the Doctor keeps changing his appearance? I haven't and don't really follow the series.

jcmoorehead 01-06-2010 06:23 AM

One of the Timelords abilities is that when they 'die' their body regenerates into a new form with its own distinct appearence/personality. Its really just a plot device to keep the show going when the guy playing the Doctor leaves the show but it's a device that turned out to be very good.

Photo just taken by my boss.

The location is Cardiff Bay, a common place for Doctor Who filming and also the setting of Torchwood, which would be directly under where the Tardis is. The metal tower (which is actually a fountain) is one of the ways into Torchwood, at least until it was destroyed.

So I'm guessing this much mean there is a Torchwood crossover in the next series? Or they could just be using Roald Dahl Plas as a base for filming and have just put the Tardis there for now.

Oh, boss has just walked in and said that Matt Smith is present and so is the new assistant, who is officially hot and wearing a mini-skirt, despite the fact it's fucking freezing.

.....I think I might have a wander in that direction.

Someone elses pic which has the Doctor in it.
