Oh look the dungeon match!

Obviously kills the crowd because it wasn't in the building and noone really ever talks about it, but holy shit lol. Almost ahead of its time in a way.

Honestly it is almost comical. But yet completely brutal. Like wow, I know the dumbell was gimmicked but still a pretty violent finish.

I have that ppv on VHS! Definitely a crowd killer for a PPV. This was probably pre-taped and I wonder if they did a couple of different takes and used the best one or if it was like the broiler room brawl and shot in one take.

The Show Off 01-03-2010 11:09 PM

Was that filmed in the actual Hart Family Dungeon?

Xero 01-03-2010 11:22 PM

LOL, used the Crossface.

That was a fucking stiff match.

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-03-2010 11:43 PM

Like just destroying themselves for no crowd reaction

Tb1 01-04-2010 12:09 AM

Entertaining match on TV, but the crowd had to be bored to tears.

Team Sheep 01-04-2010 12:34 AM

Was that Fully Loaded 1998?

Xero 01-04-2010 12:36 AM

Well, it's post-Bret and before Owen died in 99.

I'd say so.

KayfabeMan 01-04-2010 06:04 AM

Yeah I vividly remember watching this match.

Was totally badass then, and still is. Owen was just great.

AngryMidjit 01-04-2010 11:16 AM

i imagine this is sort of what it would be like if the ufc had pre determined fights

The Mackem 01-04-2010 11:47 AM

You know what I remember being most disappointed about this match? It wasn't the lack of crowd reaction or anything like that but they had built this as being in the Hart Dungeon. Now call me old fashioned but when the Hart dungeon showed up on TV, I was majorly disappointed.

Remember there being a lions den match before/after this as well.

Hanso Amore 01-04-2010 11:48 AM

Better than the Lions den

Did you expect an actual dungeon?

The Mackem 01-04-2010 11:56 AM

Damn right I did.

The Mackem 01-04-2010 11:56 AM

Who calls a gym room a dungeon? Seriously. Trading standards should have thrown the book at the Hart family.

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-04-2010 12:20 PM

It was an old dankass gym pretty much. Pretty brutal place to fight and learn how to wrestle, the floor wasn't exactly padded all that well.

Anybody Thrilla 01-04-2010 01:11 PM

Love this match to pieces.

Yeah, if anything that match made it look 'nice', no sign of huge holes in the ceiling, crumbling walls etc

blak23 01-04-2010 03:18 PM
