Did he go too far? (indy wrestler)

I hope this is the right place to post this... Sorry if it is the wrong place... Be gentle.

I went to a local indy federation last night called Bad to the Bone Wrestling and in the first match, I saw something I'll never forget.

Two guys were going at it in the ring and the heel got a chair and DQed himself by hitting the other guy with it. He kept doing it until another big face ran out and 'saved' him. Then, he turned around and began beating the guy with a chair himself... I thought he was tryign to kill him with the chairshots to the back of the head. He must have hit him in the back of the head AT LEAST 20 times. The guy getting hit fell on the outside and blood was squirting out of the back of his head. They were saying he had a gash in his head about an inch deep. With all the blood coming out so fast, I thought he was seriously gonna die.
Later we found out that none of this was planned, and the guy was trying to get revenge for running his mouth and costing him a few other bookings for other indy feds.
Do you think he went too far? Or is it just me?

Rob 04-11-2004 12:32 PM

Assault charge there at least. Probably even an attempted murder.

Blue Demon 04-11-2004 12:39 PM

That's too far IMO.

HHHsucks929 04-11-2004 02:10 PM

That's way too far IMO. I wouldn't even recommend anyone doing that to Triple H.

Dazz 04-11-2004 02:30 PM

you'd have thought someone would have broken it up if it was real.

Sephiroth 04-11-2004 02:31 PM

He went way to far IMO.

I'm thinking everyone else, including the other wrestlers, thought it was an angle, too. :(

thuganomicalcrippler 04-11-2004 03:05 PM

This is one of the MILLIONS of hazards of pro wrestling. Don't try this at home, kids.

It'd be easy to make the mistake, especially in a small federation where you might not be privvy to everything.

that being said, the guy needs to be slapped with an aggravated assault charge and neutered with a bowling bowl.

Rock Bottom 04-11-2004 03:39 PM

That's sick. (Not in the cool way. In the sick way.)

natureboycv 04-11-2004 03:40 PM

Yeah too far.

Corkscrewed 04-11-2004 04:50 PM

Inexcusable. That guy should go to jail.

 at Kane Knight

PureHatred 04-11-2004 05:13 PM

This went way too far. To the point where I can't see someone justifiably defending the attacker.

And shouldn't the guy booking the event have known something was wrong? I know its an indy fed, but wasn't somebody in charge?

Kane Knight 04-11-2004 05:18 PM

Somebody should have known. I'm only going to defend the notion that most people wouldn't have.

It's a piss-poor federation if NOBODY had a clue.

OssMan 04-11-2004 05:26 PM

What a douche. Seriously.

Mr. Nerfect 04-11-2004 05:37 PM

I think that definately went to far. Doing something like that shouldn't be justifyed under any means. Hope the injured guy is alright, and gets better soon. That should be a serious charge. Attempted Murder sounds good,b ut he was just probably trying to hurt him. Still sick though. :(

Funky Fly 04-11-2004 06:00 PM

Absolutely disgusting.

Fox 04-12-2004 12:10 AM

He shouldn't have been running his mouth...

PureHatred 04-12-2004 01:07 AM

Please say this is a joke. At no point can you justify taking a steel chair to somebody's head, wounding them, and putting them in mortal danger in order to stop them from "running their mouth."

And he wasn't even a man about it. If you're going to say that somebody talking shit deserves to get their ass icked, ok. But he didn't go up to this guy, call him out, and beat him down. He waited until his target was basically defenseless, then ambushed him. For all we know from this story, the guy who got beaten may have thought it was all an angle, so he didn't think to resist until he was getting his brains bashed in.

Wrong on so many levels.

Well said.

Savio 04-12-2004 01:18 AM

fire him

KayfabeMan 04-12-2004 01:20 AM

It's shit like this that puts what few indies are left in even more danger than they already are in. Indies are being forced to close down as it is thanks to the 'WWE takeover' of pro-wrestling,and then you have assholes like Rob Feinstein, and "competitors" like this guy who put even blacker eyes on things.

Word gets around about stuff like that, and people refuse to have events like this in their facilities; and with no facilities available,it forces any potential promoters out of the game before they can get in it,and forces current promoters out as well.Nevermind the big chain it causes, since workers can't get any work at all in their area; and with no shows,a lot of fans turn away from wrestling (like what happened when ECW and WCW closed).

mitch_h 04-12-2004 01:35 AM

My trainer does teach us little things to do in the ring to get back at a guy who is stiffing you or whatever. But never does it include hitting someone in the back of the head with a chair. Way too far.

Kane Knight 04-12-2004 01:39 AM

Yeah, there are steps.

Being a jerk back to someone in the ring is one thing...

Nearly killing him is another...

Boondock Saint 04-12-2004 01:40 AM

WTF

like not selling a move, spiting on him, or flamming sledge hammer.

Kris P Lettus 04-12-2004 04:34 AM

Was it New Jack??

If so, it's cool..

darkpower 04-12-2004 06:00 AM

I think that would go too far. Something like what Holly did to Capotelli is one thing (and Matt got his revenge in OVW, if I'm not mistaken, by beating him in a match, by the way), but doing this to someone? NO one deserves that.

Yeah, I know, internet fans sometimes wish that someone got killed or something, but none of them litterly mean to actually go out and murder the guy (though I sometimes question how sane a few of these internet fans actually are these days), and we DON'T approve of that. At the least, the guy should be terminated IMMEDIATLY, and at most, face jail time for possibly battery charges and more. That shouldn't be allowed or tolerated in any fed, and the act of no one seeing that something was very much out of the ordinary there shows how out of the loop officials there are. Not only am I surprised that no one stopped this guy if it was a shoot, but I'm also shocked that no one cared that there was even a backstage DISPUTE beforehand between the two in question. If you saw someone who was angry and another person enough to even CONSIDER that, would you say something to prevent it from happening? I know I would be the FIRST to say something.

SuperSlim 04-12-2004 10:57 AM

that goes beyond the mat... way too far... this is someone's life at hand as well as their career.

Shaggy 04-12-2004 11:15 AM

holy crap....that had to be brutal.

Mikey 04-12-2004 11:42 AM

Way too far. what a dick

blake639raw 04-12-2004 11:46 AM

Hopefully the prick gets what is coming to him. I hope they let him back to wrestle, and all the boys gang up on his ass, and paralyze him. That shit is just inexcusable. There is NO excuse for something like this. :nono:

aaronkyle86 04-12-2004 12:26 PM

The attacker was the indy fed's World Champion named Vic the Bruiser. From what it looks like, he wont be getting punished at all.
I forgot to mention one other thing. After the guy got up, he went backstage to confront Vic and Vic punched him in the mouth and threw him down some stairs. If nothing is done about this, then I'm never going to BBW again.

BTW, The website to the fed is www.bbwwrestling.net They didn't mention anything about the attack and just said "Dr. X was easily defeated..."

Razor Rybek 04-12-2004 06:16 PM

The guys got issues obviously, dishing out that kinda punishment for mouthing off is way way too harsh, if this happened in WWE everytime someone opened there mouth backstage, we'd have like 4 dead wrestlers per week.

The sad thing is, the freak who did it is now getting more exposure than he could of dreamed of, people talking bout him on the net and all that. doubt it'll help his career though

Nark Order 04-13-2004 01:52 AM

Yeah, that is rediculously too far. He could have ended the guys life...

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. :n:
