possibly the worst cover ever right here

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GncK6IuY8OA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GncK6IuY8OA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

fucking blowing my mind with this. my tastes have softened somewhat in my comparatively old age to when i was like 15-18, but i do not hide from my post-hardcore/screamo/hardcore interests during my adolescence. but i honestly don't recall listening to anything as tremendously unimaginative and chained to the balls of genre stereotypes as this cover. uniformly ludicrous haircuts: check. over-the-top screamed/boy-band-clean alternating vocals: check. jumping sequence: check. dirty power-chord driven guitar lines: check. chug breakdown: check. it's like they read a fucking book, or wikipedia, or something.

dunno. terrible. fuck you, confide.

Kapoutman 01-11-2010 01:04 AM

This is a fucking massacre. The vocals make me want to stab the singer in the throat. Plus they all look like unatractive chicks.

The Mask 01-11-2010 01:43 AM

have you posted this before :'( i am sure i have seen this topic

The Destroyer 01-11-2010 03:46 AM

I think it may have actually been linked in an MSN convo, since I've definitely seen it before as well.

That doesn't make it any less awful though. Nice to see they coordinated their hairstyles.

Downunder 01-11-2010 07:45 AM

Cover of what?

fucking awful what ever it is

Penner 01-11-2010 08:55 AM

i hate bands like this

Vastardikai 01-11-2010 02:09 PM

I was expecting something by William Shatner

ben folds and iron & wine both covered it also, with much better results.

Vastardikai 01-11-2010 11:57 PM

I only got through like 1:10 of the original before I had to turn it off.

The urge to kill something had grown exponentially from the first little blip to the third bar of the first verse. I was afraid that if I tried to get through the whole song, My cat's blood would be decorating my walls.

Oddly enough, I can listen to death metal and be completely calm.

mitchables 01-12-2010 12:05 AM

different strokes.

Penner 01-12-2010 12:42 AM

God. These guys are so gay. I HATEEE bands like this.

Tb1 01-12-2010 06:40 AM

lol this is really fucking terrible. Wasn't expecting it to be THIS bad.

muffalufagus 01-13-2010 04:49 AM

No way that drummer sings that well live. Over-produced rubbish. And why ruin a good song?

Juan 01-13-2010 05:04 AM

This cover almost rivals Penner's band's cover of the Final Countdown...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FjeMDvCdrtc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FjeMDvCdrtc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Jimmy Cones 01-13-2010 08:52 AM

If I can get a hold of my band's cover of "The Red" I'll compete with that Confide video. Though I seriously laughed when the breakdown chugs started. Too bad a part of me loved it since I work at UPS.

asphyXy 01-14-2010 02:08 AM

Whatever this genre is called is the worst thing to happen to music.

asphyXy 01-14-2010 02:13 AM

Speaking of worst thing to happen to music, anyone that has yet to see the following video, enjoy three and a half minutes of comedy:

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/D5886Nb_psg&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/D5886Nb_psg&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

I still can't get over how ridiculous that is. It pisses me off how popular these bands are too.

Penner 01-14-2010 02:40 PM

Is that the vid where they two step in the gino beat?

So gay.

My band is much more talented than that band.

New Rule: Only Mr. Bungle and SOAD are allowed to do drastic tempo changes. (and I'm only allowing SOAD because they seemed to get what Mr. Bungle was doing with them.)

asphyXy 01-14-2010 06:19 PM

Tempo changes are the least of their worries.

ROFL - are they serious

ron the dial 01-14-2010 08:42 PM

lol wow

ron the dial 01-14-2010 08:48 PM

jesus the techno part of that last song. fucking hell.

Penner 01-14-2010 10:13 PM

I DID see them at warped and they thankfully did not use auto tune live but that two stepping during the techno part is a huge blow to the hardcore industry.

Good call. You would never catch kids like that at a REAL Hardcore show.

MVP 02-24-2010 12:51 AM

I got 0:48 seconds in and couldn't bear to listen anymore.

Iron & Wine's cover of Such Great Heights is brilliant however.

Has that Disturbed dude not changed his schtick, or added new things to his vocal syle, in the past 9-10 years?
