I voted Sting. Not taking anything away fron Dusty, yeah he's a hall of famer and has some memorable feuds and numerous championships. To me this was just about who is/was better in the ring and hands down it is Sting
Sting.
Gotta be honest, I've never really cared for Dusty Rhodes. Huge fan of Sting though. |
American Dream. Excellent on the mic, one of the best of those days.
The Amey-kun Dreeem gets my vote.
I have not seen Dusty enough to vote for him
Sting for me.
Sting....Big Dust was definately one of the greatest talkers of all time, but Sting is still Sting

THE ICON........Sting
He's funky like a monkey and never hulks up! Dusty all the way.
I'm voting for Dusty, cause he's got tits.
The Dream > Most.
Dusty Rhoades is both one of the best talkers and workers of all time, how could i not vote for him? Stibg is neither a great talker or worker.
I never got da love Dusty Roads gets, I mean, okay I know he was mad over in his country boy character but dude is fat and he aint ever put on a match like Sting does and to those of u about to go into dat lil box and say "But Bonez, Sting is as old as Dusty", well all I got to say is that Sting can MOVE, I mean I rarely catch TNA but when I watch it and see Sting, the dude can move even tho he is old but Dusty? Come on. COME ON!
Winner : STING. Also da crow gimmick was mad hot. |

Dusty has had some of the most memorable matches in wrestling history. Can't really say the same for Sting. Unless you can't that abortion of a match against Hogan. |
Tough Choice. Rhodes had some LEGENDARY broadways with Flair, Race etc, and for a man his size that's incredible.
I dont get why internet marks seem to think if you dont work like a junioror you cant work...i just dont get it...
I love Sting
and Dusty Rhodes was retired like 15 years before I was born so I never saw much of him |
Going with Sting mainly because never saw much of Dusty Rhodes wrestling by the time I started watching wrestling (mainly WWF around early 1990-92).
Dusty was better on the mic even when sometimes it was hard to understand what he said due to his southern accent but Sting as the "Crow" Sting and his time in the NwO Wolfpak was some of my favorite WCW moments. |
Quote:
he had a ton of memorable matches from 1988-1994. his Clash of the Champions I match against Flair is rated among the top matches of all-time. |
Well, I'll agree he had a memorable feud with Ric Flair, but overall, when I think back, I can recall more memorable moments from Rhodes than from Sting.
dunno, it's very close.
Dusty from 1980-1987 was incredible. Once he went to WWF it was all over. Sting kind of took over the top babyface role from Dusty from 1988-1998. And then he had a decent run in TNA for a while. Not just his matches with Flair, but Sting's matches/feuds with Vader, Cactus and Rude really kept WCW afloat during the 90's. Then of couse his run from 96-98 was just ridiculous in terms of how over he was. Sting had a moment to remember every single week in 1997. I went with Sting. I think he had a better run overall. Rhodes will always be a staple of the 80's and you can definately argue he was the greatest babyface of the 1980's. I would argue Hogan though. |
I went with Dusty. No disrespect to Sting, but his position as a top babyface of the late 80's and early 90's was based 90% on Flair's continued putting him over. And his Crow run was that of an unstoppable cool guy wearing all black carrying a baseball bat and beating up 10 guys in a row. My god, Goldberg never even was pushed that hard. Sting became an icon because he was pushed to be that...Dusty became an icon with the decks stacked against him and over coming it all with a work rate that was second to none and having uncharted charisma.
TOVO Fact: Tovo still regards the NWA World Heavyweight Championship with more reverence than any belt currently in WWE. |
Sting is the better wrestler, but Dusty Rhodes was so fun to watch
Whoa. How is this a blowout?
I know right?

how can you not love this man |
One of the best things Sting ever did was not talk or wrestle for year.
I voted Dusty. |
