It came with a free poster which was a totally new idea to me at the time. Games coming with extras like that.

Sales-wise: FirePro Wrestling for the GameBoy Advance. Sales were very abysmal for FirePro 1 & 2 that Spike stopped sending the portable version of the series to the U.S.

Never heard of this game by Nintendo before until a few months ago when I got a set of NES games as a gift from a friend who wanted to clear out his older gaming collection. This game was included in the set.

Team Buddies.
Still one of my favourites, awesome multiplayer for the ps1. Basically just starting off as a swearing bean shaped guy, then collecting blocks to build more people, Angels, Tanks, Planes, missile launchers, and loads of other random shit to fight with.

Recently sold off my copy of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.

I totally loved Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball. Get enough money to have 5 robot Laimbeers on your team and you were golden.

Think I might have to break out a Genesis from store stock and play Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl.

OssMan 01-23-2010 05:48 PM

Damn I hate you less Parkmania. Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball is legendary amongst my friends and I. I won the tournament we had in that game, I am such a monster at it. I'm trying to collect every game in the unofficial series of the format (Athletes first and last name)'s (Adjective) (Sport). I have Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball, Mike Ditka's Power Football, and David Robinson's Supreme Court. May have to look into Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl.

Pigskin Footbrawl is basically Blood Bowl, if you're familiar with that board game. It's only on the Genesis according to gamefaqs.com.

Depending on how loose you want to make that format, I know there's Prime Time NFL Starring Deion Sanders, Coach K College Basketball, and Joe Montana Sports Talk Football for the Genesis; Bill Walsh College Football on SNES, Genesis and Sega CD (the '95 version is only for Genesis); Al Unser Turbo Racing and John Elway's Quarterback for the NES; Emmitt Smith Football for the SNES, and a bunch of different Ken Griffey Jr. baseball games.

Also, everyone knows about Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl, but I didn't know until recently that there was a Tecmo Super NBA Basketball.

Absolutely loved Cannon Fodder when I had an Amiga.

I used to have this game for the Amiga called Superfrog, was developed by Team 17 and had was about this Frog with... Powers I guess? You had to save a princess and to regain your health you drank Lucozade. I think it was fairly popular when it came out but with it being an Amiga game I'm not to sure and it generally draws blank looks.

Another one is Zool, which was out on a few platforms but again draws blank looks today.

I was looking for video of a few ZX Spectrum games and I came across this site: http://www.zxspectrum.net/

It has a whole bunch of games from the ZX. I played Top Cat for the first time in about 18 years. Brings back memories.
The only real problem with the site is the ingame controls. The controls are all unexplained for the most part and the first few minutes of a game are spent trying to figure them out.

DAMN iNATOR 01-25-2010 01:04 AM

Dunno if anyone else here ever played or heard of it, but I used to have Zoom! for the Genesis...it was kind of like an evolved version of Q*Bert in that it had a variety of enemies, and you raced around on these oddly shaped mazes with all these little tiles, and you had to race around and claim all the tiles on a board to advance to the next, and there were also a bunch of power-ups and the like.

Superfrog was an amazing game for the Amiga. You had to collect all the gold coins on a level and then have to find the exit. Great game. Zool was good as well.

Scary thing to recognize is that the developers of Lemmings eventually changed their name into Rockstar Games and developed GTA.

I was wondering if that was the case, since down in the lower-right corner, you can see "DMA Design". That still has to be one of the most mysterious/ridiculous game publisher acronyms ever (Doesn't Mean Anything). And they actually developed not only the original GTA, but also GTA II and GTA III, as it wasn't until the time between GTA III and GTA: Vice City that DMA Design actually became a part of Rockstar North.

Actually, DMA is an acronym of Direct Memory Access. "Doesn't Mean Anything" was just a joke between the people at DMA. Mostly when people used to ask them what DMA stood for.

Same with DMA apparently being an acronym of "Dundee Modern Arts" as DMA/Rockstar North is from Dundee. It was just a joke that got spread around the schools in Dundee in the 90's and half the kids believed it, including me. :(

I don't know who started that one though. :wtf:
